Veteran 285 indian land, South Carolina | Subject: RE: Show us your Ghoulies - Halloween Run Challenge Page #2 Ok so I attempted my first LT field test this AM as per running protocol posted in various forums on BT. My avg HR for the last 20 mins was 170. For some reason this sounds low to me. My pace during that last 20 mins was 8:26 (faster than my 5k PR pace of 8:30) so i know I wasn't dogging it and I was pretty close to reaching my limit at the end of that 20 mins. When i went back to my blog and adjusted my HR zones the results look like this: HR/Pace label Range data label Cumulative Time in zone 1 - Recovery 112 - 144 28m 10s 2 - Extensive Endurance 145 - 154 1h 16m 11s 3 - Intensive Endurance 155 - 162 6h 01m 05s 4 - Sub-Threshold 163 - 169 10h 23m 11s 5a - SuperThreshold 170 - 173 6h 48m 06s 5b - Anaerobic Endurance 175 - 179 5c - Power 180 - 188 |

To me that upper number is pushing into Zone 3 work and Recovery is supposed to be only Zone 1 & Zone 2. Other than that it looks good. Yeah i thought it seemed like a wide range, too. But I put the numer in BT and it calculates it...Not sure of all the behind the scenes formulas for calculating said ranges....just pushing the "I believe" button and saying ok that is Zone 1 |

Yup, I said snow. Wow. Does it seem early this year to you? We never have snow before Halloween and with how cold it is out there I would not be surprised! I think it's early this year. The leaves are still on the trees. The colored trees look pretty all dusted with snow, though. It's warmed up a bit and looks like it's raining now. |

Champion 6225 | Subject: RE: Show us your Ghoulies - Halloween Run Challenge Page #2 thanks for all the GHOULISH WELL WISHES back from the Docs. no trip to the hospital necessary. woosh. they way my son was talking/sounding this morning i was thinking pneumonia. but, thankfully his lungs sounded clear, that it was more post-nasal drip than anything else causing his coughing. Doc said its definately viral. we just wait it out, if his symptoms worsen or the fever gets higher or lasts longer than 5 days, we should come back in for a re-check. my youngest seems OK after his dose of ibuprofen. so i guess thats it. hospital visit/stay avoided. YAY! its a TV/Movie watching laying the couch drinking Gatorade eating popsicles sipping chicken broth kinda of day. and im SO gonna be NEEDING a run when DH gets home. either a 5 miler or 45 min tempo. we'll see what im up for. caring for the kids, but staying healthy is myself is a priority, then fitting in my run wrkouts, whatever else i can manage to fit in is a bonus. not gonna stress. lots of rest. fluids. handwashing. im sure ill be back here when im goin stir crazy. :} stacieb Edited by skrtrnr 2009-10-13 9:06 AM |
