I don't care if I get to be the best Triathlete in the world.  My legs are staying hairy.  I will be the hairiest one out there.  I don't even like shaving my face and if I didn't have to, I wouldn't.  Luckily I don't have to shave my head.  Mother nature took care of most of that for me.  Ha ha

there were a lot of things I said "I wouldn't do" when I started triathlon. Most of which I do now! LOL

My answer to the bike maintenance qotd is: "Whenever Chris tells me to!" LOL I'm with Erin. My SO is the bike expert in the house and I just defer to instruction. But since I've never trained for a race before now, I may have to be a bit more self-motivating...really really really wish this snow would go away for good!

Oh man...wine and steak are favorites with us too!!! We have looked into adoption in the past but I think we had something else in mind! LOL

No race wheels for her. She's got a nice set of Kyseriums on the bike right now. When I get my wheels I'm going to share with her unless we are doing the same tri together.

no, that pic isn't the actual bike. I don't know why we don't have any pics of her bike. I'll have to dig one up. I think I have a pic of the two of us and our bikes after the Naperville tri last year. I'll have to dig that up!

If I shaved my legs, everyone would see my legs   .  My wife has forbidden it anyway.  She says I can't have smoother legs than her.  Oh well.  Guess I will just look like a gorilla riding a bike then.  Maybe all the leg hair will keep me warm this weekend.  That would be nice.  I have considered shaving my back though.  Think that would help me with aero possition.   At least it would keep all the birds from trying to make a nest while I ride.

I've been contemplating shaving for this season. Still not sure yet. I know Anne is totally against it and kind of seems appauled by the idea. That alone might be reason to do it!

Seriously, I'm not sure on the benefits of it. I know I would take some flack from my big tough MTB buddies. My roadie friends are egging me on to do it though. If it was something I knew I'd get another 1 mph on avg over 35 miles or so I'd do it in a heart beat. I'm just not convinced it's going to help all that much.

First off, shaving was not for any reason other than dealing with injury.  I will let you know if it adds any speed, though.  Honestly, it keeps freaking me out every time I touch them.  On the bright side, the tape seems to make a difference.  I am not allowed to run right now, but I can feel the difference even when walking.

If you do shave, invest in a decent razor and make sure that you have several of them because they dull out quite fast!

Any pictures for us????

What is up with everyone this weekend?  I know Dale has a race - good luck.  Can't wait to read your race report.  You will be great!

I have a busy weekend.  Today is my husband's birthday.  After work, we will do presents and go out to dinner.  Tomorrow I have my running workshop and the in-laws are coming up.  Another meal out!  Hopefully I will get in an easy 3 miles before the workshop.  Sunday is my long run day - 8 miles this week.  That will be a new record for me - I have never gone that far before!  Kinda excited about it!  I need to get up early to get it in before church because after church my Mom wanted to go to see Jesus Christ Superstar, so I bought us tickets to go.  Hopefully I will fit everything in before Monday rolls around!

Train safe!

Karen

Happy birthday Karen's Husband!!

Good luck this weekend racers!! We want race reports when you come back!

My plans lately haven't worked out very well, but..... plan is to run here after work in about an hour. Go home and go for a swim while Anne runs at the gym and then meet up for some R&R in the sauna. Tomorrow I'm going for 22miles on the run. We'll see how it goes. On Sunday, I have swim class at 7am and a massage scheduled at 9am. After that it's off to breakfast with Anne! Hopefully, I'll fit some time in there somewhere to start getting my MTB back together!

have a good weekend everyone!

I will spare you by not putting any pics.  I biked today on the trainer and will bike again tomorrow.  I would like to get some swimming in if possible, but that's always the hardest on the weekends.  Other than that I will be continuing to clean the garage because I believe Erin is getting tired of my bike being in the family room and possibly hanging kitchen cabinets.

QOTDL:  How do you store your bikes.  I am trying to figure out a good storage solution for our bikes, but I need to balance that between space and cost.  Just wondering what others do...

Have a great weekend!
