Hi Yanti!  Glad to see you are well rested.

Eminently well rested.

And I feel like I could do it all again tonight! Maybe I will.

You go girl! Wink

You know, there is a world of difference in your aura between weekdays and weekend. It makes me so very happy for you right at the moment.

Thanks, I love the weekends.  We are having a party tonight with about 40 people.  My wife is running around like mad and I am like "no big deal."  Compared to work, it just doesn't seem stressful.  My biggest stress today is fitting in a swim between cleaning up the house and grilling tomato's for the bruschetta for tonight's party.

PARTY! I love parties. Lived in a gorgeous house with a friend right off Venice beach; big backyard, perfect for BBQing. I think we threw five goodbye parties for me before I left for Indonesia

Yep, you're exactly right. Plus, I bet the house is already clean and people at the party will just make a mess anyway, so no worries.

You should come back to the States for a visit.  You could stay with BT friends and we could have party after party.  I bet we could keep it going for six months or more touring the US.

That was actually the plan (though more like 6 weeks) when I was going to do Beach to Battleship in the States!

Aaaah, sigh ... (did you see my last comment last page? Enquiring minds want to know) bunch of BTers and tri folk used to come to those parties, too. One BTer couldn't make it but she sent her aunt and uncle instead. It was awesome. They brought the yummiest Italian macaroni salad ever.

Was?

Buckshot - 2011-12-03 11:17 AM Hey Sharon, how's the weekend?

Going pretty good. Planning either a long ride today (well long for me is 25 miles) OR...a run. Woke up with a headache though, so we shall see. Going to see a movie w/a friend tonite...just need to find a decent one.

How's things w/you?

Good.  Rough week workwise; but I am just relaxing with coffee this morning. My two girls are busy reading and we do have some people over tonight so I'll get going soon.  Easy swim on tap; but all in all, feeling good right now.

Okay, okay! I'll have to come do some other epic race in the States and do the Tour de Parties.

It means I'm wafting unfavorable odors around. Come to think of it, I don't recall my last shower. Great. Duh.

Oh, that kind of stink.  Go take a hot bath and rest.  I have to get going, my wife just got home from the grocery store and I haven't done anything around the house.  You should plan a visit to the States.  You are welcome to stay with us, we are relatively normal.  I would keep you away from my extended family, as they are nuts.  Pick some races next summer and come out! Have a great rest of the day and keep getting good rest, you are great!

I made this yesterday.  I dare you to make it and not thinks it's amazing.

Harvey Wallbanger Cake

Ingredients

  •                     1 (18.25 ounce) package yellow cake mix
  •                     1 (3.5 ounce) package instant vanilla pudding mix
  •                     4 eggs
  •                     1/2 cup vegetable oil
  •                     1/4 cup Galliano liqueur
  •                     1/4 cup vodka
  •                     3/4 cup orange juice
  •                     1 cup confectioners' sugar
  •                     2-3 tbs orange juice

Preheat oven to 350.   Grease and flower bundt cake pan

Mix everything except the sugar and tbs of orange juice (for the glaze)  Bake for 45 min (or untill done) and let cool in pan for 10 min then turn out onto a cooling rack.

Mix sugar and 2-3 tbs of orange juice and glaze the cake...

Pure awsomeness.

Good!  I think I can quit the pain meds, but why would I want to do that?

How are you today?  I just finished cleaning the house and I need to get out and do some shopping...  I NEED to train, but it's forbidden for a couple more days.

Will they let you do one arm curls while watching football?  Max weight is only 12 oz and you can do descending weight per set.

oh yes. don't quit the pain meds.  enjoy being comfortably numb a while longer, i say.

i'm doing pretty good. NEED to send resumes, but there's this mental block with it. idk what that's about. i also NEED to run or bike...get to the gym...something before this day wastes away. you know when you just want to relax...and do nothing? i feel like i never do that, anymore.

just be.

Don't even mention resumes...  I need to get on that as well.  I just need to write a decent cover letter and start sending them out...  Just keep putting it off.

not sure why this is so hard to do.

for me, i have not had to send resumes in like 8 years. i'm truly rusty. my current job, i was recruited away from my last employer, and the last job, i was there for 7 yrs, and that was the last time i sent out resumes on a continuum.

i am in sales/marketing. good at what i do. hoping i can convince someone else of this...to hire me and pay me a lot of money. Cool

your job is more of a niche, no? what is do, while i've been locked in one industry for a while, i can transfer sales/marketing to any industry. it's hard when you're in a niche.

Yeah, civil engineering doesn't transfer that well.  I could just be a "manager".  I know how to manage people and projects, but I like to design.

Where if Florida are you from?
