Great news Ghoulies.  I found out that I am getting 1.5 new staff.  I know, what is .5 staff.  That is one person that will be shared between two branches.  I get her half the time.  Woot!

Anyway, I have spent that past two days figuring out the new schedules, the schedule for sharing the person with the other branch, and hopefully tomorrow I will get to talk to my new staff.  They will start here on 9/17.  I am so excited.  Of course, the first month of schedules with them on it, no one is on leave so we look really flush.  That will feel good.

Caleb had his first football game last night, sort of. The other team only had 20 players between 7 & 8th grades, so they played 10 plays on offense, and 10 on defense with our 7th graders and that was it. Then they played an entire game against our 8th graders. It was kind of disappointing. Caleb had 17 person cheering squad just for him, and he played about a dozen plays.

No game next week, and then for the next 6 Wednesday's he'll have games. I hope they are actually games. We stayed and watched the 8th grade play, our boys won 46-0. Caleb and I came home then while Donnie and Keri stayed for the 9th grade game. Caleb wanted to take a shower, and he had homework.

WOOHOO!!!

I have decided that today is going to be a wonderful day.  I am planning on working out tonight at the gym and hope to get a swim in.  My back is a bit sore from going to PT yesterday, but i don't think it is a bad sore.  I go back to PT next Thu, but I have a whole list of exercises to do between now and then.

Not much. I'm leaving work soon, so I'll have a few hours to myself before the kiddos start sneaking home. I'm not sure what I'm going to get in to.

Good morning Ghoulies!

I'm working from home today because my kayak is supposed to be delivered today! 

After we got this all set up last week I thought to myself "what is this going to cost me?" So I emailed the store manager, and CC'd the DoSO and asked. The store manager replied $499.97, which is an incredible price because the kayak retails for over $800. Then 2 days later he sent me another email and said that he was looking at the wrong boat, and the price would be $549.97. This pizzed me off. I replied to him, and CC'd the DoSO and asked what the price would be, and told him that any of the points they had gained back they were now quickly losing again. The manager replied back and told me since he originally told me $499, he would honor that price. WOOT! I had that money earmarked to buy a treadmill, but it is still warm enough to be outside, and I will be able to get a treadmill before winter.

The weather is to be ugly this weekend, so I really hope I get a chance to take the new kayak out!

I spent last evening playing nurse in my house.

The boy always sends me a text to let me know he made it on the late bus. He texted last night, told me he was on the bus, and told me he didn't feel well. I asked what was wrong. He said he had a headache, and he felt sick in the stomach. It was 90 and humid yesterday, so I thought maybe he was just over heated. He got home, and I noticed he wasn't acting quite like himself. We were talking and he told me they were doing a tackling drill and he got hit pretty hard in the head. I watched him the rest of the evening and he was definitely not himself. I checked his pupils, and I think he may have a concussion. If he has a headache this morning I'm going to keep him home today, and call his doctor. I am also going to email the head coach, and athletic trainer and let them know, the trainer will have to evaluate him before he is cleared to practice again.

The girl had softball practice last night. She walked in the door holding a mostly melted bag of ice. She was playing 3rd base, and while tagging a runner out got her little finger on her right hand hung up on the runner and severely hyperextended it. I tossed her in the bath tub, then put a splint on it for the night. She may end up at the doctor's office, too.

There is NEVER a dull moment around here.

The guy was supposed to be here before noon with my kayak. He hasn't left Rockville yet. He should be here between 1:30 and 2:00 now. That totally wrecks my plans for this afternoon. GRRRR

All I wanted was a kayak. That's all I wanted. Why has it been such a PITA?
