Dee, you are way to funny.  I would love to join the PEEPs challenge.  I fully respect your decision to take a break.  You give a lot to us and we all appreciate it... You are a good soul!!!

I printed out your PEEP challenge and showed Peggy.  She got a solid belly laugh out of it, she loves PEEPs.  I figure when you nuke (microwave) a peep is shinks into a pile of bubling goo like something from a bad Star Treck episode.  Something to look forward to on a Sunday afternoon...

Best to all, Emerson

Glad Peggy enjoyed "Peeple" magazine. LOL

As for nuking peeps, first, they get really really BIG, then they sort of collapse in on themselves and bubble a lot.

There are some really funny videos on YouTube.

Well, Peep magazine was a bit tasteless and in poor fumor... She is dead.

But we laughed out loud anyway... Somehow that tragic situation deserved being "Peeped"....

And, the dueling peeps were perfect....

Thanks to everyone for keeping up with my through the hills and valley's... I'm happy to say I think the travels through them is over for now and I'm ready for adventure!!!

I will be checking in on everyone regularly...you had better be good little triathletes...or else!ha

Happy Monday!  Hope everyone had a great weekend.  I see that Dee graced us with her presence this weekend.  That's what I get for stepping away from the computer...I miss a Dee sighting

I've been hitting the bike really hard lately.  I'm trying to balance my competitiveness with staying on plan.  I'm building run mileage for a half-mary on the 8th but I'm also trying to keep my monthly bike miles above 400. Makes for some tired legs

Hope everyone has a great monday. I'm off to find more entertaining stories while I work overtime.

Hey Everyone,

I am back. At least I seem to be. Between my sinus infection, my DH and the kiddos it has been a crazy couple weeks. I am feeling about 90% right now. I have to catch up on everyones logs. I hope you all have a great week.

Is anyone else going to do the March bike challenge? I am going to try 80 miles. The challenges really seem to help me stay on track. Now I just need to stay healthy. Hard to do during preschool years.

I plan to join, but it will not be a lot of miles.  I will be out of town for about two weeks that month and I intend to pick up my swimming again.  Can't do a tri if my swimming is a melt down...

Hi Amy! Welcome back!

I've signed up for the March biking challenge. Work has been crazy, so I'm going with a small goal. (I wonder if I'm masochistic.) But if I declare a goal, I'll be more likely to DO something (besides working.) If I don't declare a goal, it'll be all work, all the time.

Well I am in for the March Challenge too but I am having trouble deciding on an amount.  I start a strict plan next month in training for my big A race...my half ironman.  Does anyone have any helpful hints on what I should choose?  Well I hope everyone is doing well.  Tomorrow is hump day...YEAH!!

I cannot even imagine training for a 1/2 iron. I have only done two sprints. That is all I have planned for this year too, sprints. Hopefully more than two. I have enough trouble getting my training in for 500, 12, & 3 let alone longer distances. Maybe someday.

I bet there are great training plans on this site somewhere.

Don't be too surprised, I am starting my "warm up" to a 1/2 iron this spring.  I have the biking and running down, it is the swimming that I have to do.  You can do it if you set your mind to it... I am and I am older than you are and started a lot fatter...  EK

Congratulations on starting your quest for a 1/2 IM.  You can do it, just start and keep at it.  I have done a lot of study and am ramping up now.  I just never put that in these blogs.  Are you asking what race to choose or program to choose?

Thanks.  I actually have a plan already.  I am going to use the BT Half Ironman plan.  I guess I am just trying to figure out based on what I have done in the past and what I have lined up for the month of March what my challenge goal should be.  Maybe I was just more talking to myself more than anything.  I do that sometimes.  I must just be crazy   And Emerson, as for a half ironman, if you can do a full marathon and do great with that and have the strength and motivation to get through everyday like you are...a little half ironman won't stand in your way!  Good luck!

When I did my first sprint in July 06, I never ever thought that I would go beyond that distance.  Somehow I managed to talk myself into doing my first-half marathon in March 07.  I ended up doing 3 Olympic distance races last year and have signed up for my first two HIMs for this year.  I guess I prefer the methodical approach, particularly since I had no real distance background in any of the sports (I swam in High school, but the 50 free and 100 back were my races).

You'll be surprised how you reach these plateaus where first a distance seems like it's insurmountable, then possible, then comfortable, and then you start looking for the next one

See I am kind of the same way, but I can't deny that a little part of me has always wanted to be called an Ironman and that pushes me to keep moving towards that distance.  People tell me I am crazy and maybe that just motivates me more.  But I know I want it and some day I will get it!  And then I will get my one and only tattoo: an MDot on me to signify to the world what I did.

Eric, why did you choose to do two HIM instead of just one?

2 instead of 1?  Because I'm a totaly addicted triathlon moron.  My first is May 3rd and the second one is Nov 11th.  So they are basically my 2nd and last races of the season.  Gets me to an early peak and then a late season one as well.

How's everybody doing?  We do seem to have lost a little momentum in keeping up with each other via the forum but it always looks like everyone's been busy with inspires.  I'm absolutely guilty of being awol a lot lately.  I've been ratcheting up my training, battling with some feelings of being disgruntled about work, and working too much....BUT  I also want to keep up with you guys.  I'm glad to see that many of you are participating in the challenges. This is a great way to keep pushing yourself, particularly on those days when you might be tempted to let a workout slide.

What's on the race calendars for March?  I've got my 4th half-mary on March 8th and a sprint tri (first of the season here) on March 29th.

I can't believe you called me a moron, moron!!   I guess this just seems like such a big race to me that I am not in the mind frame to do more than one.  I have a bunch of other tris in mind...need to figure out what state I am going to be in first, but geez...isn't doing two half Ironmen like doing two Ironmen without the huge recovery?  Wait...scratch that...that sounded like a moron talking

March is looking rather boring right now.  I have maybe a 5K and another indoor triathlon, but for the most part it is the base training for the HIM and I don't want to overdo it.  What about everyone else?  Anything fun and exciting planned?
