was going to try and catch up, but looks like Beth did it for me...thanks for the so-called run-down....but I must say, that I have to go and find this infamous pic of Kendra in a wig.

LOL

I don't think the pic actually exists.....................

hmmmmmmmmmm or does it?????

Well.... how are your photoshop skills? LOL

not too bad, except for the fact that I don't have photoshop anymore - but.............I know people

After you're finished with the Kendra-in-a-wig picture, you should think about that picture that Sal owes Kendra..... What did he agree to wear in it?

Yeah, yeah, yeah...just so no-one gets carried away...painted toenails, a kilt, a wig, and holding a LD...or such...

It's on my to-do list...maybe I'll be going crazy during my HIM taper, and will need to find something to do...

Here's my report from OWS practice this week:

This week's focus was on drafting. They gave us two options for good places to draft:

1) Right behind the feet of the other person. Your fingers should basically brush up against the other person's feet.

2) Off to the side of the other person. Your head should be even with the armpit of the person you are drafting off.

In general, the first option is a lot easier to do. With the second option, it's hard to coordinate the strokes without smashing arms. But, there are a few advantages. If you are swimming into the current, the first option is the best so that the person you are drafting off of do the work. If you are swimming with the current is coming across you , you want to be to the side and let the current break across the other person.

Hopefully that makes sense. If not, let me know and I can try to clarify.

Ooooh, I like that second option. I will totally try to use it if I can muster up the courage to actually draft and I'm in choppy water.

Jen - pic of the blanket. Want to see.

Beth - positive thoughts going your way. (Found the orphan)

Sal - you are such a tease with tha pic.

Scott - training and no races is just fine. No one says we have to compete. I only compete against myself when I race because I know at this stage in my life the other is not possible.

Pam - go for the job or don't go for the job, the choice is yours. I will say this, only go for the job if you really want it. Taking a job just because someone else wants you to is not a good reason. You need to be happy with what you do in life.

Dee and Cat - way to keep an orphan company.

Kristen - yeah to the article. Glad the campus was quiet and no lasting repercussions to the incident the other day.

Heaher - biking on the job. Woohoo way to combine work and training.

it was purely by accident - apparently even after all this time I sometimes have trouble with the new thread vs reply button!

I can't believe it got up to 5 pages - pretty funny!

I am thinking of just spending most of this year building base and losing weight rather than racing at this point. Its like too much *pressure* to even race once a month. I'm probably going to skip the duathlon in June, maybe do the July one, do the SF half in August, and then I may not race again this year. The only thing(s) I'm signed up for are the Doggy Dash 5K and the SF Half Marathon - that's it.

And that is GREAT Scott.  Gotta play it by ear.  Sometimes things come up.  Priorities change.

I cancelled my marathon this month, because I had the opportunity to go camping with my youngest.  I was realizing my kids are growing up so fast.  I don't want to miss ANY of it...

Kids are only young once.  I figure I can always run another marathon next year, or the year after that, or next decade...

For me, Ironman Florida has been put on the back burner until 2015.  I figured IM training would be like a part time job, and I'm not ready for that, so it's HIMs until my youngest graduates...

Well, for me...it's called being a husband and father...neither of those titles would work if I didn't work out in the morning before work.  I rarely do workouts at night.  Filled with too many family obligations...

It's rainy and dreary today.  I didn't do my ride this morning, so I have to ride after work.  But, I got invited to dinner with the girls and that sounds way better than going for a ride in the rain.  I was good and told them I couldn't make it to dinner.
