I just fixed the broken printer.  I unplugged everything but the power cord, turned it off, turned it back on, and plugged things in.  For some reason, that made it work.  I'm not complaining, I just think it's stupid that series of events made it work.

Scott, the house and the yard look great!  I like the color.  It doesn't stand out too much and it blends well with the plants she has.

Spokes - 2008-07-31 12:30 PM Bill, I'll take some pics of the back deck when I get home tonight. Can't walk on it until Sunday as they stained and sealed it yesterday. Her backyard is bricked up and has all sorts of plants... although the other night I was watering and scared out a river rat... those suckers are BIG, and it was complaining about getting squirted.

Is it a patio?  Concrete or brick?

OUr new patio goes in next week.  I've got to decide by this afternoon on what kind of pattern and color....  it is a tough decision

I know some people that know some people that can take that printer out for you if you want.

They are reasonable and you won't ever know what happened to it in the end, it just won't be a problem any more to you!

PM me if you need this help.

Does it involve a baseball bat and a field?  If so, I'd like to get in on that.

Thanks Jen (and everyone else). She's spent a fortune re-doing stuff on the outside... both the side and front porches were wood and she had that torn out and replaced with brick. Out back, she had most of the concrete (its a very small backyard) jacked up and replaced with brick. If we didn't have the elevated decking back there, I think she would have had a small pool installed instead.

A patio or a pool is a tough choice. Clearly, you need both.

Let's just say that you might have seen it referenced recently in this same thread. I really cannot divulge much more information than that right now!

What a fun way to pass the afternoon. Making threats against printers! Good thing no one is monitoring this or we could be in trouble!!!!

I would love to do that to some of the computers and printers I've used.  I feel like it might bring me peace.

Its a big fake redwood wood patio with a semi transparent roof. If I were redoing it, it would be brick rather than wood. MUCH less maint. You do wood,  you're going to have to seal and/or stain it every 2-3 years, particularly if you live in a wet climate.

We have a little dinky red brick patio... and it comes out on Monday!!!  The weeds started coming up through it....and with the cold the bricks shifted... hard to keep the grass from growing up over the edges...soo.... CONCRETE IT IS!!!!

I think we're gonna geaux with random stone stamp.... kind of a dark tan concrete color.... and a ligth greensih beige for the hardner on top... trying to create kind of a river cobble look....

Then the roofing will be Sunshade by Equinox Roof... It's a vinyl pergola that has rotating slats....yep it will cost more than the concrete

I finally figured out why the poster maker (aka 24in DeskJet) didn't like me... it all had to do with the paper selection in set-up.... it wanted custom 1:   instead of Oversize ANSI A.... whatever that's all supposed to mean....

That doesn't even make any sense.  Since I'm guessing you were using the Oversize paper.

Kendra...

How's the headache???

Hope it's better  Fingers Crossed

It's hovering. But I'm able to carry on. After today I'll be off work for three days. Yahoo! Better have not alarm calls during the night.

DO you at least get time and half for alarm calls... for us we get 3 hours every time we have to get out there... of course by the time I get waken up and try to fall back asleep it's more than 3 hours

I'm supposed to be able to take comp time for any time above 40 hours, but in reality the chances of taking all the comp time you earn is pretty slim. But since I'm really pretty good about trying to not work more than the 40 hours I'm in good shape. Some of the mangers feel that they need to put in 50 hour work weeks and I said no, if I can't get my job done in 40 than I'm in the wrong job. And look, not only do I usually get it done, but I also find the time to play on Nibbs.
