My wife is awesome.

She got me an iPhone with a Liverpool FC skin.

She is awesome.

Looking forward to an interesting January Transfer Window.

Any projections?

You've got a keeper, Crowny. No insight on the transfer window, but will be interesting to watch. Thanks for bumping the tread again.

Saw this and thought Liverpool had traded Reina or something!...

The league is a mess this year....Chelski/Pool sliding further down...Man City spending $500M and parking the bus at Arsenal!....Arsenal winning the big games but losing to the lesser teams as usual...and Manure playing poor and unbeaten!!!!

Looks like the financial ruin is coming to fruition as these teams are stuck with average players they overpaid for and cant afford new ones....

Yep.  We have been talking about this, in this thread, for how long now?  "You reap what you sow" comes to mind.  And it isn't just this league, although they are seeing the worst of it.  Serie A, Bundesligua (sp?), La Liga are all feeling it in one way or another.  EPL is just more visible in the English world.

Roy is gone after 6 months.  Dalglish is in, for now.  Wonder who they have in their sites.

Also just saw that Cannavaro is now playing in the Middle East?  My how the mighty have fallen.

bcozican,

have you seen the replay of the straight red Stevie G got in the FA match on Sunday?  The only replay I've seen leaves me scratching my head.  Was it truly a foul worthy of a straight red, especially considering he got as much, if not more ball than he got Carrick?

I saw it...two footed and off his feet...so yes, in todays world a straight red. In the old world...a bit of cold spray and a muttered oath of vengeance from Carrick to Gerrard...

BTW - your fans have now run off 2 managers and one set of owners in short order...not sure what they are expecting...you play only 2 true Pool players..the rest are a collection of European mercenaries who could care less about the history of the club...money and loyalty to the shirt are in short supply...so sorry..dont see this being sorted any time soon..King Kenny wont help either...in the efforts to compete and stay at the top..the soul of Anfield has been sold off....shame..applies to other clubs too though so you aren't "walking alone" so to speak

Heh.  I guess.  but this coming from Webb who only gave a yellow to De Jong when he karate kicked Alonso in the chest in the WC.  I'm also still a bit miffed by the, what I perceive to be, dive by Berba in the first minute.

Yeah, I agree about the club.  It is getting down right ugly.  And no, King Kenny is NOT the solution.  I hope he is only a temporary stop gap while they try to find a suitable replacement.  It is not the same league when he was in it back in '95.

Lets call a spade a spade...Berbatov dived....On the manager side..who are you going to get? Mourinho?..not a chance...its a trap....you can only lose at this point....I think you'll have Kenny for a while....until the situation gets calmer

....Fat Sam is available!

Kenny out?..wonder what odds you would have received for betting on a Blackpool double over Liverpool at the start of the season!

I like Blackpool..they play the old way...get it wide, take people on and dont go into games against so called superior opposition by parking the bus and playing the fan favourite formation 4-5-1!

Not sure what's happened to Arse.....second game in a row they cant beat Championship opposition....

I still don't see king Kenny being the solution. I'm thinking he is a temporary fill in to try to get some kind of stability in the club. Then they so an exhaustive search AND get rid of the dead weight on the squad (I'm looking at you Konchesky and Johnson) and get some people in the line up that will actually earn their paycheck. That is if there is any professionals left that will actually do that anymore.

So far, it has been a relatively quiet transfer window this January.  A few changes.  Darren (Get) Bent and Piennar to name two, but the rest has been very, very quiet.

Any that have turned your head?

20 mill plus for Bent....stupid money for an average player....give me that money and I think I can find you 3 players better than him...easy...

Tiote is one I think someone should look at...good holding midfield player with skill...surprised no one is picking him off Newcastle....

Funny how people want Adams from Blackpool now he is in the premiership...no one wanted him when he was in the lower leagues..

Too many teams dont go fishing in the lower leagues..they look to the top leagues in other countries for talent and miss the ones right in their own back yard....

I couldn't agree more.

However, I don't mind that another MLS player is being linked to the EPL.  Omar Cummings from Colorado to Aston Villa.  Could be interesting if he goes.

I also couldn't agree more on the wasted money on "Get" Bent.

I mean to post this earlier in the week but forgot.

I was actually watching this match when it happened and their comments did bother me.  Now more comes out about off-air comments.  Sad that this still exists in this day and age.

BTW, my wife was geeked up when she saw Massey on the sidelines as an assistant.

I have mixed feelings on this...great to see the opening up of the profession...however, its the same problem that is emerging with NFL and female reporters in the locker room, sideline etc....its been a boys club for a long time...and to expect them to be totally PC and accept females into the fold without some of these incidents is unrealistic.

Just like Ron Franklin's career being ended with ESPN for the "sweetcakes" remark...some guys get slap happy and say inappropriate things...but it should not be a career ending remark....

It is unfortunate that there are still these types around.  Then again, when the head of FIFA makes statements like the "don't go to Qatar if you are gay" and "maybe we should put the women players in tighter clothes to attract more viewers" type of comments, I guess we can't be surprised if there are others that say this kind of stuff.

This is why English football will be crap for another decade....

"Gareth Southgate has been confirmed as the Football Association's new head of elite development.".....good lord....

And Crowny....35M for Carroll....you should just go buy Athletico Madrid's entire team and field them instead of this deal....

And 50mill for Torress, with some rumors that Anelka would be thrown in for the trade to Chelsea.  Ugh.  I'm sick just thinking of it.
