Good morning everyone!

Sorry I was MIA the past couple of days. I had a really rough week and just wanted to hide.

Bill - The flu has gone around our house and up and down the road, hope it passes you soon.

Melissa - WOOHOO!!! for finishing your test and all the swimming

Jules - Glad your back, what size t-shirt do you want? I ran enough miles for 2 half marathons this month that qualifies you for a Ghoulie shirt.

Robin - What part of NC are you in? I can't really come down there right now, unless you don't mind me sleeping on your couch, which I would gladly do for you. Pick a race, anything, I'm in south central PA, I could do something in VA, MD, WV with you if you don't have a couch. Pick something in NYC and we'll make it a trio. YOU CAN DO IT!!!

Tom - Hope your race went well today.

Sorry if I missed anyone.

I swam yesterday, twice. I was late getting up moving and didn't have much time in the pool before they closed it for a swim meet. I swam 500 meters then. I went back later in the evening and swam another 1400 meters. That's my biggest day in the water EVER! I'm feeling it today. That's ok, HARDER FASTER BETTER STRONGER!!!

Rainy ugly day here today. I'm heading back to the Y but not sure what I'm going to get into.

Catch you all later.

Good afternoon! I'm tired today...as per usual...oh well...Need to do an hour bike today on the trainer...I think I will do a spinervals workout again! I've been fiddling with my aerobars...I was having alot of pressure on my wrists and kind of sliding forward because I think they were too perpendicular compared to the handlebars and too narrow for my shoulders...so I have widened them out...hopefully this helps me take more pressure in my elbows and not in my wrists...

Went out last night...We had a "animal t-shirt" party...my animal was a cartoon bunny--gooo thumper...haha...We had a turkey, some wolves, a horse, a lion, a tiger...some selected other animals as well..haha. I went home at 12:30...who's lame?/ really tired...haha

Melissa,

Snuck an early morning hike in out here in Colorado and now am spending quality time with my family - LOL - ROFLMAO - All those other words that show off torture time!

If you guys have a normal family - feel blessed!  More stories to follow!

Does such a thing exist???? Look forward to exchanging stories.  Seriously though, I hope you have a good visit with your mom.

Lets just say that it started off bad, progressed to worst this morning, but finally got better.  Still glad to be leaving tomorrow!

Love them all but man are they whacked or what!

You should see the ordeal it is to figure out where to eat and then once that is done, what to have to drink and eat.  Shoot me please

haha - come on have some fun....i know that we put the fun in dys"fun"ctional families! have safe travels! and a nice long work out to get all those stressful decision making meals out of your mind! I soooo feel your pain and add a father who decided that the ENTIRE family hates him and is out to get him! now if I could play twilight zone music...I would add that as our families background music! and Im sticking to that story!

A lot of it was flooded out due to all the rain they got this week but I got enough of a taste to want to return again for a long weekend camping trip!

so you transported your bike and gear and then did some touring, Bill?

Nope this was all car driving Jules.  Too rainy to transport or even consider renting one.  Next time though!

so, do you always stop at airports when driving your car?

this is definitely one that has me going....HMMMMMMMMMMMM?????

Great ending to a great weekend!

so this is the next airport you decided to stop at with your bike while driving home, Bill?

I am starting to try to understand! but very CONFUZLED!

the only reason I can see that you are stopping at these airports while driving would be:

A) you have a thing for airplanes but are afraid to fly so you go and pretend fly!

B) you are having all your passengers in your car screened by TSA for bombs or other nare-de-well carry on items before you allow them to travel with you....you also have them screened so as to make sure no one has any fluids or liquids over 2 oz in the car! and no one can bring water in the car! only water that is bought while in your supervision!

C) you are schizoprhenic and even though Bill is driving with his bike (shhhh dont tell William his co-dependent self) that William is now at DIA about to board an airplane! nooooo dont do it! cuz you would hate to see Bill kick Williams ARSE! would definitely be a fight to see...but surely not a pretty one!

D) you went to all these places in your car with your bike and now are doing some business travel! YAAAAAAAAAAAWN ~ BORING!

E) NONE OF THE ABOVE! you are instead in a padded cell writing this stuff....finding these great pictures to post of places you say you have been and have never been outside those round padded walls for the past....say....ALL YOUR LIFE!??

its E right???????

my second guess would be C????

so do I win?????????

Hey Ghoulies. I finished my HM today! My time was somewhere around 1:46 - waiting for the official results to post, and then I'll post my race report, but I'll give you guys the short version first:

I started easy and settled into my pace around mile 2 and felt pretty good until mile 6.

Mile 6 was a decent hill, which didn't hurt too much, but I started to cramp in the guts a little bit and knew that at some point I'd need a pit stop.

The pit stop happened at mile 10 and added at least a minute to my time. This was also when I started getting passed a lot more than I was passing folks. I didn't feel like I slowed down too much - maybe others were doing a 5k kick - but I definitely slowed down a bit.

Still, I finished fairly strong and had a good time overall. I've got a PR to beat now, and some good races in the future if my professional and personal lives decide to cooperate.

Thanks to everyone for being so supportive! There were definitely some miles dedicated to the Ghoulies out there today

I find it funny that half the time im Mindy on here and the other half of the time im Melissa...Maybe I have a split personality I don't know about? haha

I felt alot better on my hour on the trainer with the aerobars in the position I put them in...my wrists didn't hurt YAY! I think one is off the position of the other...so I will have to fix that...but the elbow pads are right under my shoulders now (I have broad shoulders....damn swimming)...so it puts less strain on my upper back and neck this way.

I will def be careful...you shoudl have seen me when I went from my Specialized Crossroads trail bike to my Guru Trilite..haha...If only I had a picture to capture that moment....Took me a few days to convince myself that I wasn't going to die..and that the LBS guy was totally legit when he gave me this like 2 page list of "watch out for..." when I started riding it so I didn't kill myself or break something! haha...Can we say learning experience??

Nice RR there. You have done a great job, and I am in awe of your speed! Can you teach me how to make your gut request only ONE potty stop in 13 miles? Last year when I did my first half mary I think I did 3 stops. And every one of them had a long line.

Thank you Amy! Sorry about the bad luck at your HM. Good thing it wasn't on this race track. If there was one thing they were missing on course was more "services." They only had two or three porto-potties every three miles or so. I'm just glad I only had to pull over once!

Good morning everyone!

I had a big, at least for me anyway, weekend in the pool. I think I started a bad habit though. On Saturday I had some serious issues with taking in a lot of water through my nose, so Sunday I wore nose plugs. I felt better, but I'm not sure it's something I should be doing or not.

I've also started doing some yoga. I got up at 0350 this morning to get in a 20 minute yoga program before I jumped in the shower. I didn't sleep well at all last night so this may not have been the best of ideas. I'm also not very bendy

Have a slam dunk day everyone!!!
