How did he lose it? Isn't a gps tracking device, with pin point location information? :-)

HUSKRFJ - 2012-09-01 12:25 AM Anyone else do the myathlete tracker?
For 40$ I figured it would be a good way for my family that is there an any friends who wish to to keep track of me on race day!
Anyone else used it before?
I downloaded the iPhone app to se what it will look like come race day and it looks really nor if it works as advertised.

I ordered one and it was shipped this morning Weee!  I am guessing you would have to order like today to make sure you get it on friday.

My guess is the battery wore out.  also, if it gets run over before you can retrieve it, that would suck.

Yeah I was just joking! :-)
I ordered yesterday and had it sent to my hotel. It said if you are going to be there by Thursday of race week to have it sent to your hotel.

Ordered it and used it at Racine - they didn't have the app at that time but it looks like it will make it much easier.  As far as losing it I could see that if they still have the velcro cover.  Make sure you really work the velcro together and you should have no issues.  I think they might have new holders that snap in and are supposed to work much better.  Got an e-mail mine just shipped yesterday - gonna have to call hotel and make sure they hold it for me since I don't check in til Friday.

I just used Myathlete tracker at Louisville. My wife was even able to distinguish when i was going uphill and down hill. And was easily able to find me along the course, which meant I was able to see her. It kept her informed and therefor not worried. My family and friends all were able to watch me and when I got close to the finish, they went to Ironman Live and saw me finish without waiting for an hour for me or missing me come through.  Good luck and remember, If you start feeling bad, eat or drink cola or chicken broth or something and it will pass.

Never to late to bonk!
Just had an awesome 56 mile rode in 2:33 followed by a terrible run pushing my 4 year old in te stroller. Heat index is almost 90 already and I didn't take my nutrition seriously on the ride and wow what a reminder how important nutritional intake during the ride is.
Good luck to all!

Anyone know if spectators are allowed to go into Camp Randall to watch the athlete's run around the field?

No, and that is not a good place to watch anyway, never fun running on cement and then running on rubber, people fall, wobble, and walk most of it. The only people allowed inside is a pointer and photographer. That said there is usually a large contingent outside of Camp Randall cheering people on going in/out

And the cops, emergency staff (if needed), and pace bikes for the male and female leaders.

I never liked running though the stadium.  The field is a rubber mat that messes with my gate.  It also gets hot in there.

I'm at work watching the clock and with each passing hour wondering where I will be or what I will be feeling like at this time next week. Also making myself a little crazy by reading race reports from previous years.

Have we set a time for swimming and or breakfast with the group this week? I'm heading into town Thursday am (hopefully).

Walinda

I thought this was the strangest thing when I did this race - no spectators when you run around a stadium? With 1000s of seats ready for.. spectators? It was the ONE place I thought they would be for sure!

Happy race week, my friends! Sending my good vibes and tail winds your way

There was still some discussion of what time to start, I will defer to locals on start time as I don't care.

Enjoying the last hours of summer at the beach!

Like Walinda, I've also been contemplating "where I'll be" a week from now.  My stomach did a series of sommersaults at 7 am this morning.

Enjoying the last of summer at a resort in Ontario Cottage country with a couple of girlfriends.I think we decided swim at 730 on friday, not sure where though. Mighty Mom and I are meeting at noon somewhere on friday to go drive the course. I should have room for two more.
