#16 done.  6 mile Tempo run (treadmill).

I was dreading this run all day for some reason.  If not for the "streak", I'm pretty sure it wouldn't have gotten done.

#5 - I'm getting faster - is it the streak, is it the new running shoes, is it the enforced rest last week - whatever I'll take it.

anyway new lunchtime route of 6.6km is great, try and make it 7km next time.  Beautiful sunny day, tunes blasting loved it.Laughing

Resistance is futile.  I'm back!  I'm gonna do it again after a week off with inne ear dizziness.  Nice one today 6.5km -  faster than my usual pace - it hurt but proved it can be done.  Time to get some speed in my legs, I've got distance covered.

# 1 isn't soo bad, we all started there at one point, some of us more recently than others.

Thanks - just annoying coz I got to #35...then had to stop coz I got an inner ear infection.  Darn OWS!  Anyway back to it now at No 5 - it builds so quick and easy.

Enjoy yours today!

4 x 1 mi at 1.0 grade on treadmill.  Ran fast (for me), 9.5 mph.  I wanted to try for another but I ran out of time and had to go to work =/

I know I am going against the grain or perhaps this is outright blasphemy, but I liked the treadmill workout (notice how I can't even bring myself to refer to it as the "dreadmill").  I will probably keep it in rotation for awhile.

#9-22 min. on dreadmill while at work. Then some leg circuits.

Look, I know it isn't much, but I've been a wreck since my huckleberry ice cream bender in Aug.

I just heard about doing this a week ago. I'm on day 5. I'm doing a 5k every day for 30 days. Don't know how opening night of the Hobbit will interfere but I will still do this!

Not sure if I'm still allowed to update since I'm not streaking anymore.  (What say you Left Brain?

Since my streak, I have been running 5-6 days per week....and yesterday I bumped my long run day up to 13.1 miles.  Yes - I did the .1 at the end!

I am running a 1/2 mary on 12/31.  This same 1/2 kicked my a** last year (blew out my achilles - ran it in 2:04).  My goal this year is sub 1:45.   On my training run yesterday I decided to do a "heart rate" run.  Using the heart rate monitor for races is my new thing.  I kept my heart rate in the low 150's and finished my training run in 1:44 !!  I wasn't even trying hard, and I still beat my goal for the 1/2 on New Years eve.

I truly believe I owe it to my first 30 day streak because it taught me that if I am smart about it, I can run way more frequently than I previously thought.  I can't wait for my long run next week (going to run a 1/2 again, and I'm going to bump it up to close to race pace (160-165 bpm) and see where my time ends up.  I will then start my taper and plan my race around next weeks long run and recovery.
