I'm trying to decide if I want to BUMP my goal again since this has been more do-able than I initially thought. When we did TdF, it didn't count for the team if someone went over. Does anyone know the "official" position on this so I can decide? Judi, you can still Bump (that's who we are, isn't it?) -- you just need to let wurkit gurl know, and put it on the spreadsheet, and she will let Cat know, who will update her master sheet. Right on!!! Once again you're at the lead of the fray. That's why I like you so much! |

Expert 663 Williamsburg, VA | Subject: RE: The Things That Go Bump In The Night Team Thread Sorry Judi I miss understood. Bump it up!!! You are doing a fantastic job. I just noticed that I'm gonna be over my goal but I won't bump it because I'm trying to bump slowly. My goal was double what I've ever ran before. |

Judi, just let me know what you want to bump up to and I'll adjust the spreadsheet. Thanks! |

This is the best my foot/ankle tolerated it since 'the incident' with the storm door - wow, this is really going to take a long time to heal. I've made up for some lost ground from last week and we still have 11 days until Oct 31, we do have until Oct 31, right? Go Bumpers!!! |

Melon Presser 52116 | Subject: RE: The Things That Go Bump In The Night Team Thread Judi, way to go with bumping. Beth, 60 minutes? That's hot!!! I am so glad your foot's better, but yeah, these things take a while to heal. So spokes has inspired me (no, not in that way ... hee hee) to start writing my story ... This week marks that I've lost about 100 lbs. from when I was heaviest. I feel kind of weird writing about it ... I don't feel any different than yesterday, but I sure feel different than I did a few years ago! I'm loosely forming an article, but I'm not sure when it's going to be done, but I just wanted to share that with you guys--both because of the accomplishment, I guess, and also to commit to writing the story. Thanks for letting me share. |

It's been a month since I stopped running and today, I ran again. Really ran...not just walked the whole time. I took it really slow. I am anxious to see how my heel feels tomorrow, but I'm off to ice it and "roll" it while I watch the LSU football game. Yay me! I'm a runner again! |

Glad you are moving out of the funk!!!! x2 x2 x2!!! Yay, Terri! I think it is one of the most difficult things to get past inertia ... easy to run when you've been racking up miles, but getting up and doing it after a hiatus really takes some get-up-n-go. Thanks for the inspiration!!! |

Yanti, that is great. Being able to share your journey is one of the most special things that you can do. Putting your thoughts and feelings out there for the world, so that others can share in your journey, is tough but you can do it. If you can inspire one person to change their life... man what a feeling! I hope that when you get to the point that you are ready, you'll let Team Bump be the first to share. |

Thanks for letting me share. 100 lbs? Um. I'm speechless. That's a really remarkable accomplishment. Really, really, really. (I could stand to lose about ten lbs. And I haven't been overly successful with even that amount. I imagine I'd have less problems with my knee if I dropped it, though.) Yes,I think that you should commit to writing the story. It might inspire other people to lose their own weight, and become more healthy, too. You said that you feel "different" now. How? Why? If you can put that into words, and describe how you accomplished all this -- then it might help other people who are struggling with their own efforts to lose weight. If you find it difficult to describe it in words, would it help if you pretended that you were talking directly to someone who had asked you for help in losing weight, and who wasn't sure that the effort required would be justified? (Notice how I'm full of ideas tonight. It's because I'm avoiding the work that I really should be doing! I can be fairly creative when it comes to avoidance. Notice how I'm back in your team thread again, too. And I've already visited just about every other BT forum. If I visit enough forums tonight, maybe I can put this work off until tomorrow. Maybe I should take my own advice and just commit to getting my work done? Nah.... LOL) 100 lbs. That is amazing. Congratulations on that huge accomplishment. Dee |

If you get a chance (and have the inclination), you may want to read the Apples team thread - pages 18 and 19. Fielding asked how/why everyone ended up on this site. Specifically: On page 18, the posts from JessicaCrouchRT, Fielding, kns57, lyssa-gator. On page 19, the posts from klgray, JasonBohn9, AmbulanceDriver. Each one of these people has told their story of how, and why, they ended up on BT.com. There are stories about battling obesity and weight issues, and one person who dealt with cancer. Dee |

Royal(PITA) 14270 West Chester, Ohio | Subject: RE: The Things That Go Bump In The Night Team Thread Terri, So glad you could go out and really RUN. That's awesome! Yanti, Share that story. It helps everyone who has an obstaccle to overcome in their life see that it's a little hill and not a mountain to get past. Got out out for another 3.6 miles this morning. I wish I could set my plan to do longer distances/times but I'm just no good with time management for stuff like that. It was cold out today, I think I shaved 5 minutes off the time it usually takes me to run my loop (not wearing a watch) Neighbor was walking 2 BEAUTIFUL Samoyeds today (and this from a cat person) |

Expert 851 Oceanside, CA | Subject: RE: The Things That Go Bump In The Night Team Thread Totally OT, but not all the way. I won't be running today. We are surrounded by fires so the air quality here it awful today. Please, please keep your fingers crossed that they get these under control. We're under heavy santa ana winds right now (60 miles per hour gusts) that are sort of blowing toward my house. I'm not so much worried about the fire getting to me (unless one starts on the base, which happens frequently) but more that we won't be able to breathe. Of course, I'm also worried about the people and the beautiful land that is being threatened. We've already had 1 death from it and so many people are being evacuated right now. |

Oh, Terri, your safety and health are never off topic! I'm so sorry. The winds were really bad here last night and I saw the fires in Malibu this morning--they are even worse over ELSO so I hear. Praying for area and the people in it. |
