Hey All: Sorry have dropped off been trying to get better have been suffering from a terrible upper respitory infection and have been resting trying to get well. It is a very nasty
illness has kept me down and has made its way through the family my youngest has been nearly 3 wks trying to get over it, the cough just seems to persist, It knocked my riding partner down to total bed rest for nearly 6 days. It has been a particularly bad flu season here, not to mention the worst winter in years. My mojo is nearly depleted. Not to fear though, I will get back on track. Well you all have a great wknd. Mike

Happy Saturday!  The weather's great here this weekend and it's killing me.  I'm moving into a taper for my half-mary next Saturday. I've been killing my legs the last 10 days or so and need to rest them, but I want to be out there riding!

I have a reverse sprint tri on the 8th.

medic0020 - 2008-02-28 11:26 AM

How's everybody doing?  We do seem to have lost a little momentum in keeping up with each other via the forum but it always looks like everyone's been busy with inspires.  I'm absolutely guilty of being awol a lot lately.  I've been ratcheting up my training, battling with some feelings of being disgruntled about work, and working too much....BUT  I also want to keep up with you guys.  I'm glad to see that many of you are participating in the challenges. This is a great way to keep pushing yourself, particularly on those days when you might be tempted to let a workout slide.

What's on the race calendars for March?  I've got my 4th half-mary on March 8th and a sprint tri (first of the season here) on March 29th.

Isn't there some extra penalty when the challenge organizer's team fails to meet their goal?  That sounds like it deserves something special

I MET MY FEBRUARY CHALLENGE GOAL!

In fact, I was at 111% of my goal.

It's my dopey team that failed to hit their goals. So my penalty for not putting myself on a better team, is that I have to wear a Pats avatar.

But, let me repeat - I SURPASSED MY GOAL FOR FEBRUARY.

So there. :P

Uh, no. Not really. *sigh*

I saw it coming though. The biking team didn't do well on the Jan challenge. But I wanted to bike in Feb. So I put myself with people who hadn't hit their goals the month before.... I suspected it would be a problem and... yeah, it was a problem.

That said, some people on the team did have "stuff happen." (Then again, I was working 80 hrs/week, and I still managed to meet my goal. Of course, nothing else got done. (I did do the laundry though, as I didn't really want to run out of underwear! LOL)

TMI Dee, way too much TMI there.  Your biking group will not yet you down this month...I already have 2.25 hours out of 15 so I am well on my way and well if Eric lets us down...we can trash him on this board the rest of the mentor season

Update for everyone:  I signed up for the Door County Half Ironman in July and just started my training plan.  This is for real!  I can't believe it still.  I also became a USAT member so I can stop paying those stupid one day fees.  Keep me on track everyone!!  So far so good

Why is it you have such issues with me and that pool?...I love that pool...I am going to miss that pool when I graduate and I can't swim in it any more 50m long by 7 feet deep...it is beautiful    Plus I like smelling like chlorine all the time; it is like a natural guy repellent

Pam, congratulations on signing up for the HIM.  Now you can go vomit....My HIM is 59 days away and I'm sweating it a little. I think I could do it tomorrow if I had to, but I want to suffer   oops..that must have been my subconscious slipping through, I mean survive it and not be dead for a week.  Got my 4th Half-mary this weekend and then I can really focus on lengthening my training for May 3rd!

Oh and by the way, chlorine is not a repellant to the right kind of guy....

And well I haven't found that guy that likes chlorine smells yet...so Mr. Right must have not come along yet.

Mine HIM isn't until July so I have a ways to go.  How about I swim for you tomorrow?  I have to get wet again...thank goodness I like it

Nice job with finally talking to the masters coach...you will come to love the water soon enough!
