About the only thing is that Torres has been very injury prone.  Would be nice if Carroll were not as injury prone.  Doubt he can be as prolific of a goal scorer though, not even by half.

There have at least been some nice moves for Yanks abroad.  Will be interesting to see if Bradley can cut it at Aston Villa.

Thought the same thing....good for Bradley....Onyewu or however you spell that....should get out of Milan too...someone should have taken him on loan.....

Got me..didnt see that anywhere!.....on Carroll....you could have picked him up for 5M i bet last year..when Newcastle were in the championship...he is not worth the 35M...or an adequate replacement for Torres...if you could have squeezed Anelka in the deal it would have been better...

Anelka was supposedly in the deal to begin with.  Obviously that fell through.

There has been a lot of good things said about Carroll.  BUt I agree, he is not worth 35M. 

There was a funny little sentence at the end of one of the reports yesterday that basically said that this will probably be the last of the really big transfer windows because this summer the "Fair Trade" regulations take effect which will significantly limit how much clubs spend.  Like the 130M+ Chelsea just dropped yesterday.  Basically, sounds like a pseudo salary cap.

And Chelsea loses again.  At home. AGAINST LIVERPOOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wild weekend..terrible inconsistency on the refereeing too...Arsenal concede 2 very iffy penalties letting Newcastle back in the game..then Johnson today gets away with a blatant body check and no call...

Blackpool needs a GK...Wolves were woeful but beat Manure who were very poor. Fergie needs to drop Rooney. Man City is getting better....should be a good derby next week..

'Pool was quite lucky on a few.  Johnson was one and the Lucas handball was another.  And Agger taking out Torres early in the match was a third. 

Thought he might have got arrested for impersonating a football player.....

He was MOTM yesterday.  Not bad for coming off the injury time off he has had.

One block on Torres?...I think Meireles might shade that honor....or Kuyt....that guy always gives 100%

meh.  I didn't name him.  Fox did.

I would have given it to Meireles or actually Lucas, even with the handball.  He played better yesterday than I have seen him since he came to the club.

Then again, it is always hard not to single out Kuyt.  The man is a friggen work horse.  he may not score much, but he is like a bee in the bonnet.  Reminds me of Frankie Hyduk of the USMNT and Columbus Crew.  Our household has nicknamed him the gnat. 

Interesting ESPN podcast this weekend that really delved into the recent "fair pay" question.  One even went so far as to question whether Drogba will be back next year because with the money thrown at Torres, Drogba is no longer "the man" for Chelsea.

It has been quite the shake up in MLS this off season.  The Fire have lost a LOT of people during the off season.  I do not have a positive outlook on this coming year.
