when you swim ~18,000m/day with them it helps.

F-K!!  Totally explains all the speediness!  My body hurts just reading that.  I don't even swim that in a month!

I agree - INSANE!  Can't wrap my mind around it... what is that, like 46 miles? lol! I swam 4,000m and thought holy crap! I could maybe do 6000m...but three times that ~ must be part frickin' fish! or Gator....lol!  haha... I am totally entertaining myself... regular sit-down camode-ian! Sorry guys - delirium has sent in...need to run - far!

Funny thing I asked this yesterday because I did these this morning in my swimming. First time I have put a time to any swimming. Like it was said earlier Eric you are a quick fish.

evondo - 2009-03-24 9:44 AM

2:50 and 4:10 are the intervals so however much faster than that you go is rest.  So in the 200's case I got 25s rest between each one.

Newtons1st - 2009-03-24 9:37 AM

Eric I was peeking at your log and had a Q. What does the on 2:50 part mean?

3x200 on 2:50 (2:24,2:25,2:25)
2x300 on 4:10 (3:35,3:36)
1x600 (7:06)

I washed my Benadryl down with a Blue Moon   I'm not quite ready to wane myself off yet.  I slept great actually...just didn't get enough of it.  I need to work on getting to bed earlier.

Yes, several long days of working has FRIED my brain... oh well, I don't really need that gray matter anyway, right?  All I need is healthy legs, strong heart, full lungs and a smoth swim & pedal stroke...ahh the little pleasures in life...

As was stated by others... Happy Hump Day!  ~  I hope everyone has a great day.

Hammy update... still tight, not quite as painful this AM... anti-inflamatories have been ingested and I will do some light stretching through out the day.  To add insult to injury, I woke up this morning to a sinus related sore throat it seems.  This ever changing weather (A/C on - heat on...hot, cold damp, dry, etc... mix in a heavy dose of pollen) and...... sore thorat!  Word of the day! REST!  work as required, but rest as much as possible!

Benedryl and a beer... been there, needed that before.  Usually a pretty good recipe for knock me out too.  Sometimes (maybe for you this morning) I wake up still feeling the grogginess that was induced by the benedryl or in some cases ny-quil... needed 10 hrs instead of my 6 or 7.

I stick with just one Benadryl tablet...more than that and I wake up groggy.  The grogginess is why I switched from the OTC sleep aide to Benadryl....I'd wake up in such a fog that it was almost worse than not really sleeping.

Swimmy question.....

Do you guys use your own PB's or the ones at the pool/gym?

Also, AM swimmers...do you eat anything before swimming in the morning?  If so, what?

As for eating I am a first thing in the morning eater. I normally eat 5 time a day but so far on my swim days I have a PB sandwich on wheat with the All Natual PB and some Gatoraide on the drive over. Then something at 8, 10, 1, 4  and dinner.

I have my own PB (TYR brand) and my own paddles (plastic speedo brand).  Of course, my pool does not supply anything but the pool, heated water and lanes to swim in.

As far as eating... I typically do not eat anything, but that is true for AM runs and rides as well.  Unless, said workouts are going to last more than 45 minutes to an hour, then I fuel before.  Such as weekend long swims, bikes and runs... I have a water bottle by pool side in the AM, and at my rest periods I drink a few swallows each time.  Usually - 16-20oz per workout.  I eat about 30 minutes after my morning workouts, and it typically includes a plain bagel, toasted with peanut butter and honey.  Ritualistic if you will!

I don't eat anything before, just drink a V8 on the way to swim.

Have my own PB/paddles, they're cheap ~$10...
http://www.swimoutlet.com/Pull_Buoys_s/330.htm

I'd definitely recommend the single piece one over the two piece tied together with string.

I saw someone using a 2-piece one the other day.....they just look awkward.  I was just curious about the PB's bc I've been using the ones at the pool, but lately (especially since the ringworm incident) I feel really germy about it.

My goodness I've missed so much!

Man love... nice.

Happy hump day everyone!  I am so ready for this week to be over!  Our month technically ends on Friday and work is painful right now... it's always this way the last week of the period.  Bastards.

Anyway- Kelli- I have all my own swim stuff.  Something about using a Pull Buoy that someone else has had crammed between their legs already kinda skeeves me.  I've also started carrying purse-sized clorox wipes with me everywhere and using them on every piece of gym equiptment.  Hehe, I guess you could say I'm a little paraniod.

But I think I got all of the swim accessories from either Sports Authority or off of trisports.com for pretty cheap.

Is anyone online who wants to whip out some pom poms for me?  I have had a crazy long day and just plain old don't want to run tonight.

I could use some motivation...

Pretty please?

Skipping the run is just one voice in your head, listen to these instead...

Kick butt in St. Anthony's
Complete 1/2 Marathon uninjured
Lose 30 lbs
2010 IMFL (did I just say that outloud?)Laughing

You'll feel better when it's over, something is always better than nothing!

It's only Thursday...WTF?  This week has felt like two damn weeks in one... I think Nicole's ringworm escaped Florida...traveled the internet super highway and gave me some rhino-ecoli-herpesimplex10-cold virus... I hate head colds!  Constantly clearing my throat...the worst!  The heavy medication is trip though!  "Is there an echo in here...." - That's what it feels like.  I absolutely have to kick this sheeeot, by Saturday!  On a positive note...my hammy doesn't feel as obnoxiously tight and sore as yesterday...I am hoping it just needed some rest and relaxation.  I will put it through a very light test tomorrow afternoon.  There is still a glimmer of hope for Sunday...

I'm with ya, I can't wait till the week's over! Next week I've negotiated 'working from home' so I can sit on my butt and be lazy

Yesterday I got my new race gear since my sleeveless wetsuit/bike jersey combo didn't work out.  Then it occurred to me the race is just around the corner, dang time flies!
