Morning TAN and Happy Friday!

I was SO hoping that the Seahawks would pull out another victory last night, but alas, it was not to be.  Sigh.

Other than that... it's going to be an absolutely crap day today in terms of weather and we've got a 3 hour run to do.

Blargh.

Just don't ever do one that takes place in the middle of November.  Never again!

If I'm ever this crazy again, I'm choosing one that takes place before the sucky weather starts.  Bah!

It's a crap day here as well. I have to make porketta roast and roasted baby potatoes with olive oil and rosemary. It's raining and I have to walk 20 feet round trip to cut rosemary and parsley from the plants. I have the garlic already. And a bottle of estate 2004 Robert Mondavi Pinot Noir to go with it.

Blargh indeed. Gonna be tough.

ROADHOUSE!

but with so many months of training, you either start training or finish training in crappy weather.  if i ever do one it would be florida or beach to battleship -- both in november!

you are in chicago now, i don't think you get 6 straight months of pretty weather ever!

I'm finding this out the hard way, and I'm not liking it!  There are so many great things about Chicago, but I'm not so sure about this weather thing...

Beach to Battleship is POSSIBLY on my radar for next year... it's typically in October so at least I'd be done a month earlier!

you be crazy.  i know goggs did it.  i've always thought it was a cool race, and it's kind of local for me (<4hour drive).  chicago marathon and a local HIM are my two big done-with-grad-school-and-have-lots-of-free-time goal races next year!

Tony did it in 2009, I think?  He's always said it was one of his favourite races ever, though I know he doesn't want to do an IM distance next year...   I've never done a marathon, but having one that starts and finishes pretty much at my front door makes me kinda feel like I really should do it.  Maybe.

You know, I have been listening to people talk about their weather this fall.  It confirms my long-standing belief that Tennessee has the best year round weather for training.  You can run and ride most of the year outdoors.  There are lots of lakes for open water swimming.  My daughter wants to swim this weekend at the lake in a wetsuit.  It is possible.  We will bike in the beautiful fall color too.

Don't tell all the Yankees. It is our little secret down here.

We have one weather ....hot. I want seasons. I want cold. Snow. Water.

TJ, we have four seasons.  Winter is varied, though.  It gets cold sometimes but every now and again we have a beautiful sunny day in January that you can ride or play tennis in just a long sleeve.  Snow is rare and doesn't last long.  I am not a big fan of snow.  We have hills and trees and plenty of rain.  I like the green hills.

Brad, there are parts of Texas that are pretty bleak -- hot, dry, and really flat.  I don't know about McKinney but I think I'll stand pat on my pick.
