Well, it just means that the stress has shifted. I've been doing a lot of driving to my parents' place lately. I've hardly gotten any workouts in this month, as a result.

It's so very good of you to spend time with them ... tough times ...

how's your mom doing Yanti?

Well, you'd be doing the same with your Mom, if she wasn't so far away. At least I can get to my parents' house by car. In your case.... well, maybe if you overinflated the tires and brought along some oars....

She is much, much better. She'll be weak for a while, but she's already getting up and out on short easy walks. Tuff lady!!!

Thanksgiving weekend the powerhead on my parents Miele vacuum broke.  They have been without a decent vacuum since then.  I was going to take it for an estimate at a vacuum place down the street but my dad wouldn't allow it.  He had always fixed everything in the past and insisted that he would fix it.  His dexterity is shot and his energy is so low that he hasn't made any progress. At some point I will need to take the powerhead into a shop...but currently it is in about 15 different pieces.

Anyway...We are all tired of a crappily vacuumed carpet so I decided to do something about it.  I got out the 30 year old Eureka that has been mine for the last 8 years.  It hadn't been working so I went ahead and took it apart.  It turns out that the fan/fly wheel plastic part was now many parts.  The vacuum store was closed so no replacement parts were available.  The powerhead works fine-just no suction.

Soooo, I pulled out our shop vac and played frankenstein...

Spokes - 2009-01-25 8:52 PM AT&T sucks. The DSL at the house is down and 'we can't get a tech out until Wed'. What BS!

That is way uncool. Better get reimbursed for those days plus some extra. But you probably won't. Seriously shabby.

What are you on now, wireless?

Some people use uprights...

some use pull behinds...

Me, I use a Upright pull-behind Shop Vac Hybrid.  It is a pain in the butt and fun at the same time.  You have to plug in both parts to make it run.
