SO the inspector just left--bad news. SInce my glorious, oh-so-competent building contractor didn't get the building permit for the basement finish until AFTER the sheetrock was up and painted, said sheetrock must be torn down, all exterior walls exposed, the ceiling sheetrock torn down in places, and one side of each interior wall exposed. Did I mention I don't *heart* this contractor any more? I stopped *heart*-ing them about 8 weeks into this "3 week" project. Wrong doors ordered, wrong carpet, wrong tub, then a damaged tub, then wrong toilet, extra charges on the paint, wrong texture on the walls, wrong toilet, wrong finish on the fixtures, no control of sheetrock dust whatsoever, I could go on and on....

skrtrnr - 2009-10-13 6:51 AM morning GHOULIES.

trying to stay calm.

woke up this morning to my son's ever higher fever

102.4 this time (its been running at 100.4ish)

cough.  sore throat.  body aches.  heaviness in his chest.

theres been a confirmed case of H5N1 in our school district (not in his bldg, the bldg my oder son is in)

what has me the most concerned is that M., hes a bit 'compromised'

he has a residual congential heart defect, a second one that required open heart surgery a few years back.

mommy is on alert now....

heading to the Pediatrician as soon as i can get him seen, maybe even Childrens Hosp if necessary.

ill chk back later and let you know.

being a sick kid sucks.

being a worried mom sucks.

ilucy2 - 2009-10-13 8:16 AM I think I am just about on burnout! I really don't want to do anything....I think I am having a mental depression of running on the dredmill. I am taking Nov off from running, and just cycling.

Sorry about the burnout!!  Do you have to run on the dreadmill?  I always feel better when I am running outside.

There was "pizza" with some sausage and a ton of veggies on it and "hot wings." I put these in quotes because noone would see them in a restaurant and agree that they deserve those titles. Either way though, I've had worse. Now I just need to think of something for tonight.

Way to go! I wish I had checked the distance I needed today before I ran - if I had done just 1/4 mile more I'd be over the hump along with you. Oh well - I'll be there soon.

The thought has crossed my mind, but since they did do good work (with lots of supervision to make sure they were doing the RIGHT work), and since they have all my money, I'll stick it out. They have to pay for most of the re-do work, since they're the ones that didn't get the permit/inspections when they were supposed to... I just have to live here until it's done...

hi teammies.

ill be back to my chatty self tomorrow.

im pooped out.

exhausted from the day w both boys home.  waiting on them hand and foot is harder than a normal day when i say, get it yourself or go outside and play your driving me bonkers.    j/k.

its looking good that both have made a full recovery and will be returning to school tomorrow.

happy that it was something minor/short-lived.  i wasnt so sure this morning....

DH came home early (told ya he was a peach) and i went to the Y and did a 5 miler, negative splits.  im right on the cusp pace-wise.  im hoping to get in some solid workouts and some good rest/recovery days before my 1/2.

if nothing else ill enjoy my time w my friends that are coming in from out of town to run, and my friends w the newly formed tri club.

i was able to sit down and type a proposed tri/race schedule for 2010....its shaping up nicely and im already starting to get excited.

2 Olys as my A races.  thats a new distance for me.  uber uber exciting!

keeping my head in the game.

ill be back tomorrow to chat.

mwah!
