iowagander - 2009-11-22 6:40 PM Good afternoon Ghoulies. I just did a 5k time trial around the neighborhood in 23:21. It was a little more than a minute over my PR, but considering the hilly course and my horrendous nutrition lately I'm happy with it. Now it's time to get in a quick ST session, unclog the kitchen sink (yay!!!), and make dinner.
Wrong month there  LOL!!  Nice PR out there today.  I managed to get 2 runs in this weekend for a total of 14 miles and a swim lesson today!! HOpe you all are enjoying the evening.

Doh! That's what I get for typing after getting my butt kicked on a run. Sorry Gobblers!!!

Good morning Gobblers!  Thanks for everyone's concern about my knee.  It feels a little better every day.  I did a short workout this morning, and it's a little stiff (but not unbearable).  Hopefully by the end of this week I'll really have something to be thankful for -- a healthy knee again!

So what's the cheer of the day???  How about the one we did as kids (bad kids, of course):

Rah, rah, ree, kick 'em in the knee!  Rah, rah, rass, kick 'em in the other knee!!!

Unfortunately, my good fortune on Friday did not translate into a lottery windfall... But it was an awesome Friday nonetheless.

I hope eveyone had a great weekend. I did ZERO exercise except for cutting the lawn, cleaning, etc. We're getting ready for our Thanksgiving out-of-towners. My brother-in-law (plus extended family) is driving up from Ft. Myers, FL and will arrive Wednesday. I am soooo ready for an enormous turkey dinner!!! Going to the gym at lunch for a game of racquetball. Need to get a couple swims in before the end of the month to complete my goal. GO GOBBLERS!

Hi Gobblers!

I got a swim in this morning.  I was a little surprised at how packed the pool was at 9am on a weekday.  Yowza!

Morning Gobblers!  Happy Monday!

I'm excited that it's a short week at work.  It'll be busy, but at least it's only 3 days of busy.

i took a chance, and went to the pool.

figured id stop when i needed to stop.

got to 1 mile and had plenty of energy 'on board'

i considered swimming a full 60 mins, but then decided to squirrel away the xtra energy.

Hello Gobblers

Yesterday was a beautiful day for a 1/2 mary in St. Pete, Florida.

The course was spectacular.  Flat with lots of scenery.

The event was very well run for a first time event.

Sorry to hear you did not feel well yesterday, but glad today seems to be much better.  Whey 4 hours of spinning on Sat?  Is that to make up for all the turkey on Thursday?

How many of them had gray/white hair.  That is what I usually find during the week in the late morning, early afternoons at the pool here.

Good morning team!  I hope everyone is having a fabulous weekend.  It's rainy and gray here, but it's been a peaceful weekend for a change -- maybe the calm before the storm?

I had a "discussion" with Dee about my knee, and came to the conclusion that I need to withdraw from the challenge this month.  I am not used to being injured, and I don't want to push too soon and risk further injury.  It's running season here!  I missed a fabulous race yesterday and I don't want to sit out the entire season.  So I'm going to be a cheerleader for our team...

So, here goes:  Go get 'em Gobblers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So sorry about the knee, but you are doing the right thing by listening to your body and getting it healthy.  That is what is important.

D001 - 2009-11-20 4:57 PM Well, I'm here. I just lost a week due to "medication issues." That's what happens when they introduce a generic version of a medication - and your insurance won't cover the name brand anymore because they're *supposedly* equivalent. (Believe me, they aren't equivalent, at least not to my body.) Needless to say, I'm now wondering how I'm going to reach my goal this month. I won't be around the week of Thanksgiving..... Stoopid medications.

Get healthly Dee, thats what is important.

My ITB and PF are acting up a ton today.  So frustrating!

Going to stretch tonight.  I also booked a massage tomorrow with a woman who does myofascial release and trigger point therapy.  Never done either before, but I've heard really good things about both.  Hopefully it helps!
