That's right, we live in the modern world down here as well

I can't believe that imperial is still being used...

Because I live in Canada I have to know both imperial and metric. I bought a new tape measure recently and I was sad to discover that it was yardage and inches with no metric! Useless!

Just wait until the American's wake up...

Oooo sorry Rhoda.Innocent

That's ok...  my grandma was born in Canada.  Does that count for anything?

I grew up on a farm where all the farmers still used the imperial system, then went to school where we had to use metric.

Doesn't help my parents are american as well.

At least I was the only person my age I know that can convert measurements between the systems in my head

I grew up with metric in Indonesia, but spent several summers in the States growing up, so learned to deal with U.S. imperial as well. Durrrrr ... back to metric now.

That means you're part Canadian - all clear. Do you use the modern metric methods or the expired imperial teachings? Wink

I can convert ml to/from cups, tsp, tbsp easily because I cook and bake often.

I will use it if it's to my advantage. For example, my breakfast oatmeal requires 2/3 cups oats, so I use that because it's simple. For something the requires 1/2 cup plus 1tbsp plus 1tsp... metric!

I will tell you that after 6 years of endurance training in the U.S., the shift back has not been easy.

I have trouble comparing KM and M, but that just reminds me to focus on my own training since it seems that most of BT works in M.

yeah, I love this!

Unfortunately, in races, it makes it seem like you have a lot longer to go, too.
