QZ - you ARE going to kill me this month, you know. Philthy, I am NOT out to kill you....but if all it takes to get ya motivated is a little inspire I am good for that You need QZ to go through taser training first - it's 6 hours of training, like hunter's safety. |

It was probably even broadcast in some places in the States, seeing as it was the opening ceremonies/concert of the Calgary Stampede. So pfffffffffft |

Master 2042 Albany, NY | Subject: RE: November CRUSHERS So, I've made a decision to prod me along on my jump rope goal. There is a jump rope in the gym in the basement. Every time I need a mental health break from work, I have to go down and jump for a few minutes to clear my head. That way my overall goal won't seem quite so overwhelming! I just went down for a couple minutes... and even though I have an elephant sitting on my chest and I'm still running a low grade temp, I feel much better!!! |

Last long run before the race - took it easy and it felt easy - about 30 sec per mile slower than last week but I got it done. I told hubby there were no races today - it was all about getting to next week. Wha hhoo... and an extra benefit - headache is FINALLY gone. Good luck with your race this week. I originally had a marathon on the calendar for this weekend but alas, things did not work out. Maybe next year. Edited by pdbman 2010-11-15 9:58 AM |

Instead of heading out this morning I laid back down and crashed for a couple hours. Body aches and stuffy head are great, someone is still messing with the indoor thermometer a bit but it is better but I still have the MAJOR headache. Going to attempt some of the run this afternoon and will just see how it goes. Will do what I can and just have to deal with it next weekend. Hope the rest of you are doing good. Yanti - feel better soon. Judy - way to go on the run/bike. Yay! Good luck on the half marathon!!!! I hope to be doing my first on March 6 as long as my feet start cooperating. Taking the new socks for a spin tomorrow. Thanks - I will have to cheer you on along the way. The rep at the local shoe shop told me to get my shoes 1/2 size bigger for the longer runs to avoid blisters and losing my toe nails. So I did back in August and I have lost a second toenail with a 3rd threatening and still get blisters on the tops of my toes so I am not sure. I think my feet will enjoy not running much next week if at all. Hope the shoes work - my blisters never pop - I seem to have a thing with getting the blisters under the edge of my toenails. I have the same problem with blisters on the end of my toes. I tried larger size so no chance of toes rubbing against the end of the shoes and still got blisters. I started paying more attention to how I ran and that's when I noticed that I clench my toes when I run. I make an effort to relax my toes and it has helped. Maybe you're doing something similar? |

Elite 3460 Slackerville, USA | Subject: RE: November CRUSHERS It seems to be the time of year that everyone is sick. Yanti, Stacy, Rhoda, my wife, and now I'm feeling congested. And its not even cold enough for some crappy winter weather challenge points. What's up with that? |

Elite 3460 Slackerville, USA | Subject: RE: November CRUSHERS I finally made it out for a run Saturday night. I figured out where the leak was on my roof and think I have a temporary fix that should last through the winter. Then in the spring we can do a permanent fix. We may even be redoing the whole roof. Anyway. After the roof project was over, I just felt like I needed to go for a run so I headed out at 11:00pm for a run. It was a nice night and it really helped my attitude. |

Elite 3460 Slackerville, USA | Subject: RE: November CRUSHERS Mid-month status update. Goal 4 - Over half way and if I stick to my current plan, I will blow away this goal. I'll probably be increasing this one later this week. Goal 1 - A little behind but not by much. I'll be caught up soon if I stick to my plan. Goals 2 and 3 aren't looking so good. I'm refocusing my training this week to catch up on these two goals. |

My sister was going to come run it with me and can't due to hip problems that she encountered when she started training. Like I told her - there is always next year - being healthy is MOST important. |

I will have to pay attention on my short runs later. I think that is probably the problem. When I get tired I tend to tense up - so if you watch me run you will see me tell myself outloud to just relax. Legs relax and the breathing gets back in line - I wouldn't be surprised in all of this that I bunch my toes up as well. I know the blister on my baby toe was the seem on my sock rubbing - I felt it at 8 miles but was behind on time where I wanted to be and had a nice rhythm going so I didn't stop. The others I didn't feel. Thanks for the suggestion. |
