I was thinking of swimming today but it seems a waste to spend all that time inside. If the wind gets awful, I may. I have chainsawing to do in the yard and that is not wise with big winds. Also raking, and that is just pointless in wind. We will see.

Ugh. Drain backed up in our basement this morning and now we are trying to work with the homeowner's insurance .....ugh.

Good morning Ghoulies!

Busy day yesterday. I spent 2 hours volunteering at my daughter's school. While I was there I ended up doing some unexpected computer work in the lab. I typed up papers for the 2nd graders that will be published into little books after they do their final proofreading. After typing I went out into the hallway and one by one had the students read a story to me, then answer some questions. I got to work with every kid in the class except my daughter, she was down the hallway in her small reading group. I got to bring a copy of the story home to read it with her.

When I was done volunteering, the kids were getting ready to go out to recess. 3 little girls asked me if I was going out to play with them. I asked my daughter if she wanted me to go to recess with her, and she did. I was a rope swinger for jump rope.

After recess the kids went to music, I went back to talk to my daughter's teacher. We talked for about 45 minutes expressing concerns over my daughters reading and lack of reading comprehension. We are going to set her up with an I.S.T., I forget what it stands for, but basically, my and my husband, her teacher, the principal, and the instructional support teacher will get together and come up with a set of goals for my daughter, and a plan to meet the goals, then moniter her progress along the way. She will also be tested over the summer for learning disabilities.

Then last night we were up most of the night with a sick girl.

I was going to keep her home today, but school is cancelled because we got 6" of snow last night. There will be naps today.

I also managed to get lots of yoga in today. I plan to do more today. I've still got a few days to reach my goal!

can i just say....

i am SO over WINTER.

4-6 inches last night during rush hour.  what normally takes me 10 minutes to drive took me 45 minutes to get home from my client last night.  ugh. ugh. ugh.

give me 70 degrees and sunny.


the kids have a snow day today so its shoveling and mopping the floors for me today.  im not even sure  if the Y was able to open this morning.

at least the sun is shining.  

i still have to get cracking with my plan for this week,but i figure that i can do a run and then a spin tomorrow and then a spin and run on Thurs and swim on Friday.

i dropped a client off my caseload that i normally saw during the day on Friday so now i have another free daytime day in my schedule.  i can get at least one swim in then and save the other for my down shifts when i guard on Saturday/Sunday.

Stacie I'm over winter, too!

We were in the upper 60's last week. It was 17 when I got up this morning.

my interview yesturday went EXCEPTIONALLY WELL.

i should be able to work there full time rather than straddling two agencies.

a pain this job market is.  NOBODY wants to pay full time salaries and/or benefits anymore.

but the upside is that i have HUGE amount of FLEXIBILITY and with the kids being young and needing me at home still, i can be.

the director i interviewed with refrained from giving me an offer only because she felt that i was very well suited canidate not only for her department but another department w/in the same agency.

she wanted to recommend me to the director of THAT department first.  then i will get offers from BOTH departments and i can get up and rolling.

i have some clearances i need to secure in the meantime.

Um... it was 74 here yesterday. I had the windows open. I read a magazine outside in the yard and walked around with the puppy.

Tho it is only going to be in the 50s and 60s for the next few days.

We are in the 30's the next couple of days, possibly 40 by the weekend. We may warm up a bit by early next week, but it's too early to tell. I just read that a few minutes ago.

I think the high here yesterday was 34.
