uhcoog - 2013-05-14 1:12 PMKeep having a dream that I miss bike check in.
My first IM dream was the day after registration where I dreamt that I was late to packet pick up and they wouldn't let me get my packet (even though it was right on top).

I have them all the time. Last one was someone stripped my bike in T1. The bike volunteers brought out just my frame. Wtf? Reoccurring one has me walking my bike during the ride, no idea why I'm walking but I won't/can't get on.

I'm bringing mine.....so that means I won't need it.

I'm the guy that washes his truck so it'll rain, though.

*jealous

I'm coming in to work for a 1/2 day tomorrow....glad I have something very specific I need to accomplish otherwise it would be a complete waste of time to come in....concentration this week has been, ummm, minimal at best...

I've cleaned the house, the yard, washed the dogs, cleaned the laundry and put it away, stocked the place with groceries, and packed my bags. My wife and 4 kids are hooked up. Tomorrow morning, I hit the road.

If you're already in The Woodlands and would like a short group ride, the Woodlands Cycle Club Team Ride leaves the YMCA at the corner of Ashlane and Woodlands Parkway at 6:15. A few will be on tri bikes, and they're welcome as long as they ride safe.

We go over to a small subdivision that has a 4 mile loop, and typically ride 4 laps. You can cut it short if you want. The out and back section is a total of around 6-miles + however many loops you want to ride. Depending on who shows up, we break into groups based on speed. It's usually a single-file pace line once we get to the subdivision. Ride can have anywhere from 5 to 30+.

Well I would post my bike pic but I don't know how to put pictures in here.... technology hates me!  How do you do it?

???

You write your post, then under the box you type in you will see 'attach a file after posting'...check that box and then click submit. Then another screen will come up to load your pic.

Eureka!  Thanks for the help!  We leave tomorrow.  Can't wait!!!

Arrived early this eve. Not to bad a ride from FL, GPS had me go through some local county hwys, mainly 105. 70mph speed limits in areas for county roads, liked it. Didn't take too long to tear into Taco Cantina by the hotel. anyway, let's. all tear up the course and have fun.

Made it home just a little while ago from the volunteer captains meeting. It is pretty cool being on this side of the coin this year after racing last year and seeing ALL of the work that goes in to the different volunteer areas. Pretty amazing!

I will be your aid station captain for the last aid station on the bike course. Hope you don't need to but you are welcome to stop and stay a while if you want!

Good luck to everyone and as someone said to me who was headed home with their bike as I was about a mile from the finish last year in the last hour of the race in the middle of the suck, "it doesn't matter what time it is, the FINISHER medal is the same!"

Woodlane? I'll be out there for a short ride tomorrow afternoon. Taking off the next two days from work and can't wait. I'll be at athlete check-in at 8am tomorrow morning. The clock is ticking....

Just remember to start yelling out your number when you enter transitions and the volunteers are great about getting your bag to you before you would even be able to bend down and get it yourself. Same goes for the aid stations on the bike. Point at the volunteer and yell out that you want the item in their hand and its yours! Just remember to slow down for your safety and theirs.
