Expert 1618 Temple, TX | Subject: RE: HILDEKQ'S Magnificently Motivational Mentor Group - CLOSED I want a trainer, specifically either a CycleOps2 Fluid or Kurt Kinetic Fluid.... hubby kept insisting about a MAGNETIC, finally had to be blunt and say I didn't WANT a magnetic, I want one of those 2, if it's too expensive for our budget, don't get one at all! I guess I've become a tri SNOB (or biatch as Wilson likes to say.... well about himself, I don't think he's said that about ME, except maybe behind my back!! JK Wilson!). Any other tri gear or clothing will just be icing on the cake! Gift cards are great too!!!!! |

Extreme Veteran 607 Zionsville, Indiana | Subject: RE: HILDEKQ'S Magnificently Motivational Mentor Group - CLOSED HMMMM "Blow your own ornament" sorry Hilde, my mind can only go to the obvious...This must be a code word for you and hubby!!! I have a mental canvas full of colorful images on this one... I think it's sad that you'd try and ruin the xmas spirit with your filth...haha LMAO. I just carried my trainer and bicycle downstairs...I think the riding outside stuff is over for awhile. I've situated it in front of the big screen so I can enjoy some good videos too!! This is also the punishing P90X area!! I haven't exercised today and keep telling myself I will go down there and try out the trainer/bike setup...dunno it's almost bath time for the kiddos and then the wife probably wants to rape me....It's pretty hard for her to resist...sad....I think she needs help..haha. Tammy, I like your wish list. Some cold weather gear would be cool....I don't even know what to buy - I'll need to research that to see what is involved?? I suggest start strategically placing post-its around the house...I also use Amazon.com wish list...that works really well. I instruct the wifey to look there if she really loves me and want to make me happy!!! Guilt - whatever works..right. Amazon also insures you'll get the right model/color etc. Now onto my list: 1. Third lung to push a little harder 2. A strong booster of HTFU 3. 25% more muscle power 4. A beautiful blonde in front of me during all events to "pace" me 5. A larger UNIT and more stamina....hehe...Hilde...keep your mind out of the gutter-maybe appropriate tho 6. A small turbine in my A$$ to help me swim faster (with KY Jelly for ease of insertion) 7. Cold weather gear 8. Tri Bike (someday) 9. Creative Vado HD Video camera 10. Health for all Hilde, start your amazon wish list so your trainer model doesn't get screwed up..haha. You can be a Tri SNOB BIATCH if you'd like!! haha So what else is on everyones list???? Good luck on the Garmin Tammy...that would be cool!! I can't wait to hear what Marsha has in store....I'm guessing she'll have to get the websites from Hilde - since she is the queen of kink..LMAO. I really have two lists...the other one I can't post....kinda private.....the wifey is calling me....guess it's my utility time!! |

Veteran 453 | Subject: RE: HILDEKQ'S Magnificently Motivational Mentor Group - CLOSED My list is simple: 1) A can of whoop-a** to use as I please (at tri's, on my kids, when the dominatrix trainer tries to whoop mine...) 2) A trainer for my bike- I think I'll steal ideas from Hilde's post - she probably knows what she's talking about! 3) 3-4 more hours per day to get it all done 4) A programmable microchip that I can implant in my husband so I can teach him how to step it up in the housework, childcare, and motivation department (this alone would create the scenerio I am asking for in #3) 5) Winter running gear - can never have enough 6) Some new running shoes - coming close to the mileage limit on mine now 7) A Keurig coffee machine (I just started drinking coffee about a month ago and gosh, I think I'm addicted!) 8) My kids to get along, just once, for a few hours, without driving me insane (ugh, and it's only the beginning of the long weekend!) |

Extreme Veteran 495 | Subject: RE: HILDEKQ'S Magnificently Motivational Mentor Group - CLOSED Marsha, the Keurig ROCKS!! I should send you mine, because I recently gave up coffee (except in case of emergency at work, and then it comes from Starbucks)! Mine just gets used for the very occasional decaf or tea now :-( And Wilson, sign me up for one of those swim-turbines, but make mine the strap-on variety, if you please! |

Extreme Veteran 607 Zionsville, Indiana | Subject: RE: HILDEKQ'S Magnificently Motivational Mentor Group - CLOSED No problem Tammy - I'll order your swim-turbine with a one-size-fits-all strap-on!!! We may both be able to catch up to Hilde and Peggy with this contraption. Hey, it's Saturday morning and I'm lovin' the sleeping in till 8:00AM !!!! Just finished a two egg ham and cheese omelet with a couple pieces of 35 cal toast...yum yum. My legs are screaming this morning - between the 3 mile sprint for me and the lean and mean spinerval last night....Im a little tender in the quad, hammies and strangely in my right achilles tendon area...dunno what up there. Anyhow, wifey is on the elliptical now and I'm enjoying my breakfast at the table all alone...how wonderful this is....the kids are watching Beauty and Beast upstairs!!! ALONE AT LAST!!! So, just thought I'd chat a bit about the trainer and spinervals videos - since a few are thinking about trainers. I have the Kurt Kinetic Road machine which is a fluid damped trainer. This unit also uses a silicon fluid which means it keeps it's viscosity (resistance) the same throughout the temperature range of use. So, it doesn't heat up and get easier...good thing. I found the spin-up and spin-down resistance to be very nice...not too quick and not too slow. It feels similar to the road in that when you approach 20mph things are getting relatively difficult....for me just like my road experience. The coast down time when you let off is reasonable - when you go from full on to easy spin....things catch up and slow down nicely. I read a lot about this trainer and the cyclops and one negative was the noise of both. Hey, I didn't have one ounce of issue with the noise. I was watching TV at normal breathing hard volume (no not porn - Hilde was thinking that) and I couldn't hear the trainer at all...I don't even recall hearing it during the workout. The unit is very sturdy and well designed - even with 225lbs rocking away it was steady! The Spinerval 4.0 Lean and Mean was my first attempt at spinning/cycle training. I really liked it. Lots of interval training in the big gear that I've never done. They even had a set where you get out of the saddle and climb...a new one for me. It was a real tough hour....I was sweating buckets...the pavement under me was soaked!! My handlebar tape was soaked too...that was kinda gross..no wind to dry things out. One of the sets was 120 cadence...that was real real fast...I thought that was crazy. Then at the end of this video you had to hit 130rpm and hold it for awhile....I didn't know my little legs could go that fast!! I thought I was going to dread the trainer, but compared to the stationary bike at the club...the trainer is a blast. I think it will work out real well for me! I'll bet the muscle confusion between the different spinerval videos and P90X will pay off nicely....Let's hope so. So get your trainer model on Amazon so everyone knows which one you want. I think Denise can chat about the Cyclops. Off to make wifey omelet now..shes done! |

Expert 683 | Subject: RE: HILDEKQ'S Magnificently Motivational Mentor Group - CLOSED Hi everyone-- Just a quick drop-in to say hi: my sister's in town for a lovely visit, and we've been having a blast. Managed to avoid Black Friday shopping hideousness, eat lots of yummy food, and tomorrow we're off to see _Twisted_, do some shopping downtown, then have a FABULOUS dinner at a great restaurant near the Mag Mile. Should be fantastic-- we both needed this break, so we're enjoying ourselves... I have a CycleOps fluid trainer, and like it lots. As Wilson said of his, I find mine quiet, sturdy, and consistent-- in fact, when it gets warmed up it gets a bit tougher rather than easier! I like the Spinervals workouts I've done so far, too-- a great mix of intervals, lots of combinations, so I rarely get bored even for long rides. I may get myself some more long ride DVDs to work to as part of my Xmas shopping... As for my Xmas list, it looks like this: --A healthy family --A CASE of whup-a$$ (I'm rapidly running out: my students require far too much of it!) --A couple of extra hours of sleep per night --Time to do my own writing in --Time to fit my swim workouts in (I should at least be getting this from my spring teaching schedule, yay!) --Various DVDs to watch on my long trainer rides --Outdoor running gear for the marathon training Hope you're all enjoying your weekends! |

The real scary part is that the others are totally on the same page....I'm surrounded by a bunch of pervs and their leader..haha...I guess ultimately I won't complain, but you may distort my fragile virgin mind...I'm easily impressionable. I was especially taken back at the butt plug part about tidying them away....Why would you do that....put the array of them on the mantle for prominent display for all your holiday guest...Nothing says Christmas more than an assortment of butt plugs on the mantel.....lmao. And some nice smelling candles that can be re-used as sensory pleasure devices. haha....So I tried this google think...that Hilde has no idea how these things pop up...I tried this trick and ..... NOW THIS IS WHAT I'M TALKIN' ABOUT!!!! |
