Of course I said yes... but it will be the last thing he made that I'll ever eat. But he made damn good chili, so its a bittersweet thing. Dude. That's making me cry. I think I could finish the bike and run parts of an IM, but I'll never swim well enough to make the swim cut off. Never underestimate the benefit of eating lots of chili before a long swim. I'm pretty sure I've nearly pontooned a few lengths at my pool after a night of chili and beer. |

I've totally swum after guzzling Thai food or chili or Mexican food or what have you. I feel it adds both to the buoyancy as well as propulsion. Heartburn is not so fun though and can lead to backward propulsion  |

Spokes - 2009-06-22 1:23 PM I just can't see myself finishing one of those things without dying... even IF I survived the swim - lets say I got it done in 2 1/2 - it would still take me 6 or more to finish the bike... there, I've got 8 1/2, minimum... and it would take me 5 hours minimum to finish the marathon part... nope. No way. No speed  Not so speedy but you sure would finish well under the time limit and in great form. Better than I'd ever do! I'm looking to do IM Malaysia Feb '10 ... if I can survive the heat, I'd like to just be able to waddle across the finish line in 16:59 or so. |
