pschriver - 2012-04-21 12:34 PM Quick update on the Slayer. He just got off the course in 4:26.  Looks like his run was 1:29. Splits and placing will be up a little later. The dude is for real.

Wow.  Ill smash a water bottle to that.

Race like that deserves multiple bottles.  I got Virginia covered.

I told my wife about your race, shes ready to hop on the MET train, might be bugging you for more information on how youre making it work.

And again, congrats on the great race.

Way to go Slayer!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've ran my best Half-Marathon race today: 01:37:22. I've beat my best result by 7 minutes. It rained and the course was though.

Great job, Gladiador!

Had a pretty huge weekend....not Slayer huge, but still pretty good.  Yesterday I rode about 85 miles with 7000 feet of climbing.  It was really, really hard.  So hard that one of my training partners cried Tongue out.  Then today I did my first trail race.  I ran a half-marathon this morning.  My legs were completely fried when I woke up, but I took it really slowly (really slow- yikes!) and got it done.  Feel really good about the effort I put in the weekend.

Gosh I've got some catching up to do!!  Nice races everyone.  Darn Slayer, that is just blazin' fast. Good luck on your upcoming race Scotty.

As for me, my injuries seem to be healing up well.  I think I can start increasing both my run and bike mileage.  I was able to run today with only minimal arch pain. Biking does not bother my knee at all anymore.  The bike fit I got did wonders.

This has been a pretty crappy month so far for training. Between traveling, injuries and life in general my volume just is not where I envisioned it would be at this point.  After this week though, hopefully I can get back on track and be totally prepared for my HIM in August.

phatknot - 2012-04-23 8:13 PM thx scotty. whats the plan for rev3?

I haven't heard from the ole coach regarding the exact plan, but I imagine it will be something like 80% on the bike and then run as fast as I can.

It looks like I got selected on lottery to run ING NYC Marathon.

Marathon registration status: Accepted
Entry number: 907313

Now it's up to me to find some sponsor!

Thanks again y'all. So jealous Gladiator. Thats on my bucket list. Good luck getting a sponsor.

What are y'all up to? I want some updates. WHo's racing, how's training, injuries and/or weather improving?

Next up for me appears to be TTT-Ohio on 5/18-20. Doing it to finish not to win it.

Liked this excerpt:

"When I began running in 1969 we knew that if we ran poorly it was because we had not trained enough."

Weather isn't improving but tried to sneak in a long ride this morning. 2 emergencies followed by a long day in office and a short ride in 20 mph winds is all I got. About to commit to a Sprint in 2 weeks.

Nice job Gladiator, that's going to be a great time. As for me training is going but not entirely where I want to be. On another note, finally got a Cervelo P3!

I paid 10$ for this report from the race website. Thought y'all might be interested in the contents but didn't want to be too self indulgent:

Your race report is now ready for download.  It will be available for download until May 27, 2012.

Please click here to download your race report (~1 MB) and save it to your computer.

The pie chart showing strengths made me laugh, 3% for the swimming.

Yes, the one thing that jumped out at me is that I that I am a 2 weapon charlie. Clearly, my problem is with swimming, which thankfully is a minor part of the whole day!

If youre only going to bring two weapons to the fight, might as well bring some heavy artillery.

The graphs do reinforce some of the thoughts Ive been having lately about time spent in the pool.  The 7ish seconds that Ive taken off my 100 time are going to amount to 2.5 minutes in a race.  Probably not worth it.
