Dumbest. Thread. Ever.

And Ryna, I would have just stopped talking to you if you had posted that. Seriously.

About this...basically then the issue isn't him telling his parents. It's him being totally unwise (I might even say stupid) about his freakin money. Like soooo many in the world. In that case it should be hard to tell his parents, but really he shouldn't tell them. HE SHOULDN'T DO IT IF HE CAN'T AFFORD IT. Frick. This stuff makes me mad. It's like blaming food for someone being fat. It's not the food that's the problem, it's YOU and your CHOICES (or some health thing, but not the freaking food).

Most people can't afford it. Triathlon, frankly, is a luxury sport. In Chirunner's case, though ... no reason not to wait a year or two to save up for the fee. And if you don't have any money ... sometimes you just have to train harder on crappy equipment.

Anyhow. God knows I've made some poor financial choices in order to keep feeding my triathlon habit. Come to think of it, I probably still am.

I so that he was KIDDING when I first read that thread and thus why I answered with the totally snarky ... "do you live in the basement.." comment, ya know, like Ryan.  I really thought he was trying to be funny!  Apparently not!

Actually, I thought the basement comment was the high point of that thread

Mike 45 - 2007-09-18 9:36 PM Hidee Ho ho ho.

What a big ho.

Where ya been, Granny?

Mornin' TAN.

Getting a new hip?

Hey TAN!

Low ... (shakes head) .. I thought you were on my side. This is why I do not come here anymore. Y'all are a bunch of ageist poo poo heads.

Arrrrrrgggghhhhh!

Honey, if you are old, hubba, hubba!

Careful Crowny.  The quickest way to alienate yourself with the youngsters in here is to be nice and show respect to the old lady.

(but thanks

Gar. Hey hey hey! I showed respect. Of course I'm kinda old too.

I know .. and I love you for it! See people ... 2goggles met me in person and I didn't give him old people disease or anything or scare him to death with my hideously wrinkled, crypt keeper face.

There's nothing crypt-keeper about your face!!!

I'd say it was more Freddy Krueger-ish.

I'd say most people here do.  =)  There's the baby, Ryan...then a few late 20's types, then ... everyone else.

Well, at least I'm in good company.

I'm still kickin' ...

Um 29 isn't `old-fart-club-material' Ms. K.

I'm 33 and I ain't old. Of course I don't think I look 33 and I certainly don't ACT like I'm 33. Do I, Z?

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh!

Okay, what if I only date people under 29? Under 5' 0"? Can I do a "youth by association" thing or at least "immaturity by imitation?"

Um .. you looked older than me.  But you acted about 11.  Except you could hail a cab like an expert.  I was impressed with that about you.  Oh, and you are very clean.

Uhhh ... thanks. I think.

So Ryan, did you chase him down stalker-style only to be outrun by one of the NFL's slowest quarterbacks?

Oh, and we have an early morning Matlock and Murder She Wrote discussion group on Thursdays.

Excuuuuuuse me, but I love watching those shows. With my can of Ensure in hand.

Ryna--crazy small world. I'm sure as I do more triathlons I'll have some cool tri-related stories to go with my "I met so-and-so halfway across the world ..."  For now ... hmmm ... maybe I should start an "It's a Small World After All" thread ... betcha can't get that song outta your head now ...
