Master 1870 Fort Worth | Subject: RE: They Who Shall Not Be Named (Twisnibbins) IV Happy Thanksgiving Everyone I'm off to the beach to try on the wet suit. Do you think people will think I'm strange when i ask for help getting it on (don't touch that one, LOL). There is no way I can zip it up once I'm in it without help, should be funny. Now that I think of it everything I just said sounds funny. Have a great day everyone. Edited by HCS5QA 2007-11-22 9:22 AM |

You could be like the guy at a recent race (must have been a newbie) who was putting his wetsuit on backwards and trying to zip it up in the front. Happy Thanksgiving to everyone. Patti and I just got back from doing the Feaster Five race in Andover MA. We did the 5-K as a walk and had a great time. Now it's just the two of us and an 18 lb turkey!

Sounds like a great start to your thanksgiving. Funny you should say that Max. I felt like an idiot this morning, I didn't pay attention and i did put on the wet suit backwards in front of other seasoned swimmers, yes I admitted I was a newbie. After putting on the wet suit correctly I proceeded to the swim and let me tell you the water was freaking cold. I now understand why you use those skull caps, buying one tomorrow. I was only able to swim around 300 to 400 meters because the suit felt so restrictive. Rubbed the crap out of my neck as well. Either way going to the cove gave me a great sense of confidence in the open water. I really enjoyed the buoyancy that the wet suit provided. Now it's off for some pancakes.

Whoa! Good job Hector! LOL...if we couldn't laugh at ourselves, we'd be in a lot of trouble! You'll get more and more comfortable each time you swim with the wetsuit, and next thing you'll be a pro! It does help in the speed department. I did a test one time over a 1/2 Ironman distance and I was 7 minutes faster for 1.2 miles with the wetsuit. Plus I was less fatigued, it really is measurable! Have a great turkey day!

Did I tell you how loud it is here, I forgot how quite my house when I'm alone. My daughter and my wife flew in this morning as well. So the house is getting fuller by the minute. I hope you guys have a good turkey day also. I'll check in later. |
