Have you seen the Tour De France climbs in the Alps? How the road zigzags up and up and up? Riders are passing each other zigging back and forth? That, my friend, is Caesar's Head. For 6 frickin' miles!!! barqhead - 2008-03-21 8:39 PM D001 - 2008-03-21 9:27 PM The last ride I did in the mountains said we had 6,395 ft. of elevation gain according to my Garmin. But I think that sounds worse than it really was. This was in the Saluda/Tryon area. I've been riding my tri bike lots recently because my back has been so stiff on my roadie. barqhead - 2008-03-21 9:22 PM If he's in country, he very well could be on course. I've never climbed Caesar's Head before. My husband has many times. But not me. And I would be on a tri bike. Somehow I think I would need a little more help than just my 12/27 cassette. And that's next weekend. Yikes! Well, you did the climb to Saluda recently, right? What's that profile like? Pretty impressive, I'd imagine! (Those are some steep roads.) Which bike did you use? Hm, yeah. It IS next weekend, isn't it? LOL see - so you're ready - right???
and soooooo????? you're ready right? Dee agrees with me - therefore it must be so seriously I can't even imagine that |

They are leaving from our house to ride to Saluda. Caesar's Head is not on the menu, though. I will be going on a 10 mile run with my friend/training partner/boss sometime in the afternoon after hubby gets back from his ride. It will be my longest run since the HIM |

Yeah. Patience is not one of my strong points. I do hope the weather cooperates for your flight tomorrow. I think I heard somewhere that it will be 90 years until Easter falls this early again. |

I hope it cooperates too! It's funny that you mention that, I was talking with a lady in line today about the same thing (can't remember which line though) When my knee started talking to me last week, I immediately let my coach know what was going on. Last year, I would have ignored it until the pain became excruciating. So I think I've learned a little bit. |

I took "time off" - but I'm still doing some work. At least I'm working from someplace OTHER than work though! Brought a stack of papers with me, but maybe I'll be able to catch up a bit.... I just couldn't take it anymore. Requested the time off - which they really couldn't deny. So I've got a long weekend. Yay!!!!! Got a swim in today. It felt sooooo nice. I don't want to see what my desk will look like next week though! :P |
