Champion 26509 Sydney | Subject: RE: Nibbs XIV zipp1 - 2008-02-19 12:56 PM ARRRRGGGGHHHHHHH, just got off the phone with dumb and dumber (bride and her mother) Bride only cares about the color, has NO CLUE that organza is different from taffeta and that the pictures will look ridiculous if everyone else is wearing taffeta that the one person in organza will look stupid. Has no clue that one person in a tea length dress with everyone else in long dresses will look stupid and just giggled like an idiot when I was trying to ask questions. Mother of the bride just wanted to make sure I wasn't mad!!!! I finally told them to just LOOK at the web pictures I sent up and let me know if they like these choices BEFORE I go plunk down a couple hundred bucks on dresses my kids will never wear again. I'm going to have to pack ALL my training stuff to go up there for this--just for the sanity break of it all (not to mention it will be about 8 weeks before my OLY in Sept) Well the good news is... running shoes and a swimsuit dont take up much room.... |

She could have gone to a nice, four year school on a scholarship, but she didn't want to leave her mama. So she went to a community college for a year and got a job as a teller at a bank. Not bad. Education while earning some money and insurance. Then she meets Mr. Loser who has her move into his trailer and here we are with the June wedding date. barqhead - 2008-02-18 9:10 PM They are what we here in the south like to call rednecks. She is 19, dropped out of college, quit her job at the bank and is now doing hair. Can you say clueless? Dropped out of college at least implies that she made it through high school. I was absolutely AMAZED at how many kids around here do NOT graduate from high school. It was appalling. And quitting her job at the bank at least implies that she can do basic math. (Assuming she was working as a teller, or something.) oh boy - that doesn't sound like a good start |

I like cornflower blue! Oh my.... I've just been put in the "tasteless" category, haven't I? Oh well. LOL Let me define tastesless: the bride is registering at WALMART--only Walmart. Now I understand not having anything and only wanting really practical stuff but there's nothing of value at Wallyworld!! |

Is she pregnant yet? If not, well, it's just a matter of time, probably.... We had one here who decided to marry her boyfriend - who had been abusing her for years. This happened about a month after she took out a restraining order on him. *sigh* |

That's a new one on me--but I've heard of people getting married on the beach in their bathing suits so I guess anything is fair game to some people... Some people get married underwater, too. I used to see this occasionally when I did a lot of diving, so here's a hint for those who choose to do this -> Do NOT exchange expensive rings while underwater. Use a cheap one instead. That way, when someone drops it, they don't freak out. Oh yeah, and pick a place that has nice clear water. Not murky, silty stuff. LOL |
