I think it is interesting to see which of the Spanish team to face the last year defending champion in the final match. There is still a lot of footy to be played and there have been some pretty interesting upsets. Do you honestly think that Inter will make it to the final? They barely squeaked in as it is. And they better not look past Shalke or they will be in a world of hurt.
Dear Mr. Crowny2, In what term you define Inter is "barely squeaked in"? Having to lost at home on first leg and managed to won after fall behind 2 goals, I would not call that "barely squeaked in". There are many surprises in the team as there is in magic store. Looks like Inter will need to not "barely" squeak in again...3-0 AT Schalke should do it..... Wow! It is no 5-2!!!! Unreal. Mr. Crowny2 and Mr. Bcozican, Yes I saw the match, and yes I know what you are going to say. When it comes to Inter Milan, it is more than just a football team. It is a belief, a sacred entity that tells life's story. We know Inter is a great team with fantastic players, we also know they have a tremendous history in European football competition. It is a team which defines a word everyone should life by, and that is "hope". I am not a pessimist and merely an optimist, but I do know I am a bit too awesome sometimes. Inter has been in what the sports call by dry spell. They spent money which could end poverty out of a nation to buy players, signing countless managers to lead the team for better results. Yet, all those efforts seems to be dull. There has not been any major trophy for the team for years. It is easy for anyone to give up and maybe roots for another team which seems more appropriate. But, Inter persist and carry on. It is the drive for improvement and all the sweet things which makes them never lose hope. When its main rival "cheated" in the largest Italian football scandal, Inter comes clean and earn the title with respect. Soon after that, the era of Grand Inter repeated with first Italian treble. This is the passion which makes men creates fire because their needs of a better food like burger. Inter is always works in a way turns most heads around, but not for the true people who understood passion. I could go on and on with why men need to go to the moon, but this is football and it should be simple. Sure there are many great teams out there, but there is only one team plays like Inter, and that is Inter Milan. |

However, IF they do, then they will have definitely earned it. Would love to see the US represented in the Club Cup. Even if it really means not a hell of a lot to the rest of the world, it will mean a lot for a MLS team to make it to there and really play against some of the best teams in the world. As to the current UEFA Champions League, yeah, that is something else. Edited by crowny2 2011-04-06 4:02 PM |

When is the game? I will need to put it on my calendar so I don't miss it. So I just looked it up since we have this wonderful thing called the internet. DUH! Anyway, I find it interesting that the final is a home & away 2-leg final. Therefore, it is not at a neutral site like the UEFA CL. I don't know if I like that idea. I would rather see it as a single game just like all other tournaments. |

Extreme Veteran 371 Jakarta Selatan, Unknown | Subject: RE: Any REAL football fans here? Dear honorary constables of this sacred thread, If you saw solely on the result from the match last night, you have all the heavenly right to say that it was a terrible loss for the Italian team. However, I would like you bear for some no-less appealing facts about the chronology of the incident which gives you a sight into what its called by “the world of Inter”. It is a wonderful sets of fundamental of which erected from many of the great thinkers centuries ago, it is the epiphany of happiness in tranquility, the zen of all philosophy mastermind. Let me start by acknowledging 2 (two) things which play important roles for Inter Milan this season. Firstly, Inter has been busy for the last 5 years. The team has been winning all trophies possible with their remarkable style of play. From domestics and international, to individual achievements. It ends more than 4 (four) decades of long drought. Within this period, Inter has established it self as a super team, almost unbeatable. Having gone many years without winning any major competitions had made Inter “forgot how to live” as champion. When the dry spell ended in 2006, Inter was not much prepared with all the victory speeches they have to do, let alone all the silver wears they collected since then. The influx of their fruits of labor has to be somewhat slightly overwhelming, it creates a small but significant problem within Inter Milan. They needed to hire speech writers, practice posing and public speaking, and also find a specialist to polish their newly arrival trophies. Having such internal chaos in the body of Inter, they decide that while they are waiting for a bigger trophy room to be made, they would focus themselves into some other directions of which lead on to the second fact. Secondly, Inter is aware that they have single handedly dominate the football arena in the last 5 years and their conscious has been telling them to give back the success they reap to the less fortunate teams and players. Schalke has been the underdog of Champions League throughout this season, their performance in the local league has not so enticing as well. Inter was kind enough to show such generosity and letting the only remaining German club to be in the last 4 (four) of the championship. They also show to Raul whom play most of his time in Real Madrid, that there is no hard feeling that Inter former manager moved him away. Inter did its social responsibility whilst shaping the German team to be a better contender for the next round, in other hand Inter took Schalke as their protégé. Even so, such act of angels and saints was done under careful thought. To avoid critics and show some entertainment in football, Inter managed to lose the first leg from Bayern Munich, a team they faced in last year final, and swayed their way through by winning on the second leg just to proof it was not a matter of luck. Now, you could say what I just have mentioned here is a result of side effect from accidentally inhaling some smokes that comes out from a café I passed by the other day. But, I want you to think about one (1) thing; if it is not because of Inter Milan, the only Italian team capable of winning domestic league competition, domestic cup, and European Champions League Cup, and Maicon who is one of the best defender in the world today, we only know Gareth Bale as some guy playing for a football club from London with chicken mascot on its crest. |

I follow Liverpool with the blinding loyalty of a puppy and its new owner. But I also know when they are not where they need to be. And outside of the wicked shot from the circle 25 seconds in, Inter looked outplayed, outmached, and just plain out. And barring a miracle (which could happen), they will be out of CL. Explain to me about LeBron and the Reds, I find it difficult to piece the puzzle together. He now has partial investment in New England Sports Ventures (the holding company) that owns majority share in Liverpool. Has Liverpool made a decision in regards to their coach next year? I would have expected them to make Dalgish their permanent coach by now, i know liverpool fans would be debastated if that is not the case. Not yet. With Glazer in Man U, Kroenke in Arsenal, Andy Lerner in Aston Villa, and now a basketball player owns shares in Liverpool, this seems too peculiar. Surely there is an attempt of "Americanizing Football". Really paculiar.. There is an american investment group as well taking over the Roma in italy. I think it is a combination of the popularity of futbol increasing in the US plus some european clubs being in financial trouble. Hopefully this new owners understand the tradition that these clubs have. |
