I just got back from lunch with my daughter and 100 other 8 graders.  They came downtown to see some court cases and were having lunch nearby so the teacher said I could come and join them.

I got the pleasure of sitting at a table with 12 young ladies trying to get the scoop on my daughter and her dream boy but gladly one does not exist yet - except for her father!

That was probably the highlight of my week - not that it has been bad - but that I got to spend lunch with my daughter and at 13 she still feels ok with me being around her friends.  Guess I am not that bad of a father after all.  Even though she will disagree the next time I discipline her I am sure

Sounds like it was a very nice lunch!

No matter how many times she gets mad at you over the years, she will always be "Daddy's Girl" Our daughter is 30 and I still see her acting like Daddy's girl when we visit and when she doesn't have to act like a mom to her own kids.

Hi Nibbs. I'm heading to Ohio this weekend. First Charlotte tonight and then on up to Ohio for Friday until Monday. Then the long drive home.

Going to Dresden Ohio where they make the Longaberger baskets and will actually get to make my own basket on Saturday.

Just got back from the career fair....

Met a pretty scary guy (well at least his book cover was)  mulitple peircings... at least six on the face and likely twice as many on the ears (including these rhino horn looking things)  and the girl he was walking around with had a Crown Royal sweatshirt , not that I object, though I prefer Jack - but - who wears a liquor advertisement to a JOB FAIR!?!?!?!?!\

To boot... the guy is going into nursing... found it interesting to see that he was talking to a rep from a nursing home.... bet the conservative seniors out here would just love that - NOT!!!

Eh...I know a nurse anesthetist who has full sleeves (arms) and several large leg tattoos.  He's really good at his job and his patients don't seem to mind.

When I worked at an employment agency we would have people bring their kids in for interviews - What are your plans for your child if I find you a job?

Dressed like they just walked in off the street for a good position (not factory type where that was cool by me!).

I am old fashioned and only 42, but I feel that most younger people don't really care what they look like and expect to get a job just because they need a job.  I have been growing a beard for the cold commutes and there are 2 p/t jobs I would love to ask - see ASK - about at the Gym and LRS but until I shave I would not even dare go in there - because I don't look good (Only on me - I don't care about facial hair on others but mine is just ugly ) and need to shave before even asking about them - not an interview or even filling out an application.

I know this is long - but I agree with you Amy Heather (hehehehe).  Public service people should at least look respectable when at work or looking for work.

Sorry this is so long!

Amy = Pink star...
Heather = Tiger...

OKay... I'll geaux change my sig line to include my name

BTW - I need a fitness attd on Fri and Sat nights, and am open to hiring someone with facial hair as long as it is groomed and I do not see a flea jump out of it

Yup, I agree, too.  I have no real issue with tatts and piercings but it's all about professionalism.  You have to look the part to some degree for serious consideration for many jobs.  Like it or not, it's just the way it is.  Oh, and Bill... at the gym where I work we have very strict dress codes for employees and there are specific policies on facial hair and piercings!
