Looks like I am all alone...sigh* haha. Oh well. I think I'm going to get dressed and head to school. Going to stock up on some GU and lytes while I'm heading in the direction of the store for next weekend.

EEP! 8 days to NWM!

I went to this organic store and got myself some: kamut bread, gluten free crackers (they look like ritz crackers), corn spagetti pasta and some quinoa flour.

I also got myself some gus.

Now I am at school...looking over pediatric liver disease! Woop woop...

Just popping in to say hello. Had coffee with a friend this morning, then took lunch over to a friend who's been home with pneumonia. Working on the pantry cleanout now.

So, I appear to have been using the LIFO method of can removal vs the more preferred FIFO. There are quite a few cans of tomato products etc that are well past their expiration date. Hmmmm.

Hi Melindy! Good job on the gluten free shopping.

Haha. It was kind of expensive. But that's okay. I'm basically just really excited to make cornbread at some point this weekend...someone got the idea in my head and now I just want it!

It's going too pretty here for me to stay inside and cook. Tomorrow is my 20 miler. I doubt much else will get done. Sunday I am volunteering at a local road race that is a fundraiser for the Visiting Nurses 'n. A friend is the RD.  Depending on how the legs feel, I may take the mountain bike out on an easy trail.

I really don't want to study anymore today...

I started reading Sense and Sensibility instead of Pride and Prejudice last night...kinda wishing that I brought it with me... haha.

I just realized that I've discounted a 12 miler as a long run. Ha! Interesting how your perspective changes.

I am also pretty sure I will take a good break from running in November and possibly December. If I can't run Carlsbad, I'll sherpa. I'm starting to get shin splints. Nothing terrible, yet. But definitely something going on.

BTW Melindy, what made you suspect you were gluten intolerant? And are you eliminating dairy at the same time or sequentially?

Its more me trying to figure out why I am iron deficient. Anemia itself is fairly non-specific, but there has got to be something. I eat meat...so there should be no dietary reason. I'm pretty much doing this backwards and realise I should start off with cutting out lactose before I cut out gluten...so I guess that I am sort of doing it sequentially right now. The thing with lactose intolerance is it is really common because people stop producing lactase as they age...but if you are gluten intolerant then chances are that you are lactose intolerant too...

I really like cheese...Cry...I like cheese more than I like bread...this is kind of the reason I picked gluten first. But after a few days...I am probably on the side of lactose intolerance too/alone...word on the street is it is easier to cut out lactose than gluten. Haha. Or so says my friend I ran into yesterday.

This sucks. Basically.

ETA: I have had GI symptoms as well...so between GI symptoms, anemia and fatigue...

Hey ghoulie ghoules.
Quick drop by at the bros house. Had a lovely lunch at the beach with my mom. Watching dolphins cavort. Perfect weather with no humidity. I haven't seen weather like that in Fla for YEARS. got 6 miles in this am with really painful fee. The new shoes suck. Anyway, Maybe a post tomorrow but no way to catch up on the thread. I'll expect an update on Monday!!!!

Melindy is prob taking her test now, good luck

I'd not heard gluten intolerance associated with anemia. Live and learn. I also like my cheese. I tried once to make the final steps to vegan and just couldn't do it. The lactose free milk is fine though.

I also tend to be borderline anemic, but it is driven by my lack of red meat consumption. When I get run down, time to bring out the SlowFe.

Good luck sorting it all out.

ROBIN! Fla sounds lovely. Next time you see dolphins cavorting, skip the run and get out there with them. Have a lovely time.
