Subject: RE: Ironman Louisville : Official ThreadQuestion to those following the Be Iron Fit plan, or those with knowledge/history of HR training: Are any of you struggling with or frustrated by the HR zones? I find myself (particularly on my runs ) constantly "putting on the brakes". I feel as if I am running at an unnaturally slow pace to stay within zone 2, let alone zone 1. I realize my current fitness is not ideal, but I feel as if I am at a snail's pace to stay within the suggested HR zone. I have used multiple methods to determine my max HR, all with roughly the same #. I am tempted to train within a more comfortable pace, resulting in a higher ave HR, and quite possibly ending up in zone 3 more consistently, but question the intelligence of this at the same time. Thoughts, feedback or help are very much appreciated. Thanks, Dwight |
