They are comfortable and fit perfectly. I'm going to try and get in 90 minutes on the trainer. Husband is at work for the day, and we're having a birthday party for my oldest tonight. I have a lot of cleaning and cooking to do. I scheduled a deep tissue massage for Tuesday. I am so excited (and scared ![]() Deep tissue is good. Make sure to drink lots of water before and after. |

Extreme Veteran![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() 1200 yds followed by 9 miles on the treadmill. I was going to run outside, but I just couldn't drag my but out of bed to do it. I also just doubled this year's swim totals. If things go as planned, tomorrow is 10 miles outside and another swim. I'm really happy that I've managed to stick with my plan as well as I have. Last year I really slacked off and it made my marathon hard. I'm hoping for an easier and faster run this year. Next: keep swimming; next next: get on the bike Have a good weekend folks. |

Curious if we can go faster than we did last month. More hills on this course but fewer turns. if you have run the NHRR you will recognize the most of the course. the course you are running is faster than east hartford. the hills are little rollers, i've run that area a million times. conditions will be much better too. i predict you are close to 1 minute faster. east hartford was a suck fest for a 5k race. sorr I can't join you, wife-y has yoga and then we have a kids sing along. BUT, i am going to do 12 miles of hills this afternoon in the balmy 40 degree weather |

![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() I'm not sure where or how to do a race report so I'll do it here. It was a short race for beginners. the swim was 400 meters, bike was 12 miles and the run was 2.2 miles. Since it was first race I'm not sure how qalified I am to judge how well it was put together but, based on other events i've been to it seemed very well organized with plenty of volunteers. The course was well marked and pretty easy to follow. The weather was mid 60's and over cast probably prefect for racing. As for how I did next time I sign up prior to race day. I got put at the back of the line 100plus racers long and I spent alot of time waiting to get in the pool and then I had to navigate thur the crowd of slower swimmers. My transition time were pretty slow I watch people I passed get ahead of me in both the bike and the swim. My bike was ok I only got passed once and at the same time I passed alot of people. One thing I noticed I never got comfortable on my bike. My postion was messed up I never was able to get in the areo for any length of time I feel like I could have gone much faster had I been able to get comfortable. As for the run I passed a bunch of people which was good however, I never was able to get my stride to open up. I think maybe I was too aggressive with my training the day before my legs may have been a little tired. With that said I finished in 1:10 so I guess it could have been worse. |

Sounds like you did fine. The one-by-one pool starts are always fun - there are some people who are really optimistic about thier times and they clog everything up and then there are those who start later than they should and wonder why everyone else is so slow. Transitions are the toughest part of a tri for me - changing shoes, getting oriented to the new sport and figuring out where to go and how to get there just toss me for a loop. Supposedly it gets better, but I'm still having fun. |

![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() your right about the swim time 2 people looked like a father son team said they could the swim in 4 minutes I felt bad for the kid because the guy running the event called them out along with a few others that they identified as people that were seasoned triathele's. I think the kid did the breast stroke the whole way. I did beat both of them which was cool. |

Master ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() counting swim time: I have a question/curiosity. When I enter my swim time, I've been deducting my time resting, drinking water, whatever, and I just enter my estimated time actually swimming. Is this correct to count it this way? My reasoning is I want to see what my rough per100 time is I guess. I'm curious how others count there swim times. |

We ran a 23:57 (7:44/mile) not bad for the hills. We ran up to the monument on top of the hill (twice) And here's Erica pre-race: |
