Nice pics Martin!

Seems I have fallen off my training lately due to so many races.  In fact, Wednesday night will be my third race in a week.  I think I should be demoted to the guy that rides back-and-forth to the team car for support (forget the term).  I hope the rest of you are doing better than me!

It's Domestique Tim.

Found this but don't know when it happened.

Domestiques do their best to entertain themselves. José Antonio Garrido, a rider with Quick Step, impressed all by carrying 16 bidons to his team-mates: one in his mouth, two in his pockets, two in bottle cages, six under the front of his jersey and five under the back! Then, Sacchi, a rider with Milram, beat the record by carrying... 18 bidons. The Italian champion Francesco Moser promised the record-holder the same number of wine bottles at the end of the race.

Geez, these guys really never cease to amaze me.  I have trouble holding on to just my ONE water bottle while moving!

Wow!  What a horrific last stage!  I'm so disappointment about the crash caused by the media car.  As cyclists, we worry about drivers everyday that we ride.  But, in the Tour, this is the last place cyclists should have to be concerned about vehicle interference.  Yet, this year we have seen riders struck by both a motorcycle and a car.

It is so unfortunate how this incident will impact the race.  Not only did Hoogeland and Flecha loose their opportunity to win the stage, but Hoogeland lost further opportunities to gain climbing points.  Not to mention, how the lingering soreness, injuries, and stitches will effect his performance in coming stages and his ability to retain the mountain jersey.

Opinions?

Not a ride picture, but one of my son and I from this weekend.  This was his first triathlon (50 yard OWS, 4 mile bike, 1 mile run).  He did great too!

Hello from Team Garmin. Best we can tell Quickstep and Garmin are the two top TdF challenge teams right now. We are pacing the peleton. Of course everything can change when we hit those Pyrenees! Good luck and watch those corners!

Shouldn't have happened but unfortunately these things do. We've already had one fatality in the Giro this year, don't want anymore. Can only assume the driver hadn't driven that much with riders around before.
It's a dangerous sport, especially when you hit something hard.

Got another stage in tonight on the trainer.  I'm heading to Buffalo for the weekend for my brother's wedding.  I may or may not be able to check in over the weekend.  If not, have a great weekend of riding!

Taking my boys (4 and 2) camping this weekend for the first time. My wife and I aren't pros either, but it should be fun. I'll be home on Sunday in time for a ride.

Short ride yesterday afternoon. Only did it as rain is due on Sunday which may reduce the length of the ride, if we even go out.

Rode through a little town called Sandbach which has some Anglo-Saxon Crosses dating back to the 9th Century. Water bottle almost jumped out when riding over the cobbles.

Okay, who could of predicted such a performance out of Thor?  For him to attack on a mountain stage, what a surprise!  That was awesome!

I amd back from my brother's wedding and got in an awesome ride while I was out there! Although I forgot my camera...  Got in a short recovery ride tonight, which puts me at my stage goal.  Not quite there on distance though.  I'll finish it up later this week.

Attempted my first criterium today.  Hmmm... what was I thinking?

I was doing okay until a guy fell in front of me in one of the turns.  I lost my momentum going into a slight uphill section and fell of the back.  I was able to help my teammate bridge the gap by sticking to my wheel, but I was fried from the attempt.  I got pulled from the course with 18 minutes to go.

I already knew sprinting wasn't my strength, but this just reinforced my belief.  Hopefully, I will have better results at a circuit attempt in a couple weeks.

Snap Tim. Did one mid-June at local motor racing track. 10 x 2.7 mile laps. Was up near front when someone went down. Had to take to grass with a few others & do a bit of cyclo-cross. Lost touch & managed to get to the rear just as the bunch accelerated up a short bank. Nothing left as HR had been in the red zone.

Any pics?

Sorry, no pics.

This crit was in the downtown area of Albany, which is a little city next to Berkeley.  The course was 0.6 miles, basically a city block here.  The course was tough with an uphill portion after turn 1 all the way to turn 3.  Of course, the remaining descent was into a headwind.
