QueenZipp - 2010-09-12 6:28 AM Paul,
You ran at 1:30 AM??????  Insane!! Bet it was nice though, no traffic (unless the drunks were out then it would be scary!)

*sniff* I'm sure Paul is the very best kind of insane
My fave times to run here are 11:30 to 3 in the morning. 'Cause it's actually cool then. The night sky is amazing too.

Thanks for coming to my defense there, although it would probably be pretty easy to find people that think I'm insane. I definitely think night time is the best time to run. It's quiet and cool and the sky is beautiful, like you said. It would be even better if I lived away from the lights of the city so I could see more stars but such is life. There's no question I'm a night owl. I don't remember the last time I went to bed before midnight, and midnight is an early night.

pdbman - 2010-09-11 8:50 PM I guess only half a page of posts is OK for today since it is a weekend and people are busy.  We'll have to step up our posting though once Monday rolls back around. A page a day. That's all we ask.

Bonus points if you can tell me where I got this line from.

Just checking things out to see how we're doing compared to the other team. Except for our Queen (who is doing wonderfully and is ahead of the schedule for the month), it looks like we need to pick things up a little. I should be able to catch up this week by throwing in an extra run or ride.

I just got a call from the cardiologist's office. They had a cancellation so I will be able to see him tomorrow morning. Here's hoping the find out what happened without finding anything wrong.

Gotta change my goals since I'm pulling out of Tour de Bintan, so it's not quite so important for me to peak out this month like I'm training for a peloton Tour with category riders or anything.

Alrighty.  Good news from the cardiologist. No problems with the heart. Arteries are totally clear. Not even any narrowing. Cholesterol low. Blood pressure good. Pulse good. He said its definitely not the heart that caused the debilitating pain in my chest, neck and jaw. While that is good news, it doesn't help me know what the problem was/is.

I just had an interesting experience. I'm getting a little frustrated with my current bank so I thought I would stop by a local credit union to open an account. Just a basic account, nothing fancy. No loans or anything. They wanted to pull a credit report on me and my wife to open a basic savings account. Excuse me? I've worked with credit unions all over the country. I helped write software for credit unions. I've trained credit union people, from the president right on down to the tellers and I've never heard such BS in my life. He said its because credit unions are based on credit. Again a bunch of BS. Credit unions were started about 100 years ago by people who couldn't get loans from banks. They pooled their money together and lent it to each other. In the good old days of credit unions, they didn't even care what your credit was like outside of the credit union. If you had good credit with them, they didn't care what your credit was like with other institutions, but those days are gone. Anyway. I had enough BS and decided I would open my account somewhere else. I called around a few other places and no one else requires a credit report just to open an account.

It just makes me even more sad that Chase came into town and bought out my old bank. I've had that account for 23 years. I used to be able to go in and they knew me by name. The employees would say hi to me when I would see them around town. I could hand them a check and they would know what I wanted to do with it, cash it, deposit it, make a payment, and they knew how I liked my cash. I was spoiled. Now I can't stand to go in the place. All the old friends are gone and the new people don't care. They can't even handle a simple payment without screwing it up. I gave them time to bring everyone up to speed but two years after the merge I'm still having problems so I'm outta there.

Now all I have to do is find a decent place that is friendly and doesn't charge a ton of fees just to have an account. Sorry to submit you to my rants. I'm finished now.

I'm a little embarrassed. I couldn't remember what T.I.T.S. is. I'm familiar with the innuendo, I just couldn't remember the acronym.  So after doing some research, and after going to the cardiologist for the follow-up today, I am stepping up my training. I am changing my goals so my T.I.T.S. goal actually has something to do with Time In The Saddle and to still do the running I wanted to. Heck, I may even throw in some swimming.

Well phew! That is good news indeed.

I've had serious awful pain like that from a strained muscle. Possible?

Yeah, no kidding, that is stupid indeed--usually credit unions are great and that's all WHY people sign up with them, doy.

Anyhoo ... I'm with BofA and I can't count the number of insane rants I've gone off on ... it always ends with me getting bum-done sideways without lube ... grrrrrr.

However, BofA was the only bank willing to give me an account when I was on Chexsystem, so I do appreciate that.

Yeah, I'm now on the 12-week Olympic-to-HIM plan, so I'll have to have a closer look at that and decide how to frame it into my goals.

Didn't make it out (again) last night. It was after 1:30 when I finally wrapped up work last night. Whoever planned the schedule for when these project would come due didn't do a very good job. There are too many things coming due at once. One project wrapped up last week. I hope my current one will be done today or tomorrow. Project three is just waiting for people to set up the network location for the files so I can copy them over, and then I can finish up the testing on project number four (which was project two until they dropped two other projects on me).

I have a ride planned with a neighbor this evening so it shouldn't be a problem making that since someone will be waiting for me.

hello hello, I just got back last night from 5 days away, managed to get a few miles in while away and updated the sheet, but still need to pick it up some, never mind, have a long run this weekend and should get a few miles in before then.

How has everyone been?  I see we have been at least a little chatty while I was away :-)

Hey Dewy. Good to have you back. I was wondering if we had lost you or something. Don't feel bad that you're a little behind. There is only one on the team that is on target and its not me. We can all encourage each other to get back on track and finish the month strong. I am determined to get 100% + this month. We can do this!

Got a bike ride in this evening. Couldn't get a hold of my neighbor to go. I think he had to watch his kids (I saw his wife out and about on my way home).

One thing for sure. I'm going to have to fix my front light before too long. Its had a problem staying in place and staying turned on. Last week it completely fell off. I made it back before dark today but it was getting close.
