brynn - 2007-10-25 6:01 PM ...but considering there were only 2 females in the group I shot ....

When I first read this, the out-of-context piece I have above was what I saw and read, and then I thought - WHAT? OMG!  She shot 2 women??
I had to reread your complete statement a couple more times all the way through to make sure that I comprehended it correctly!  I'm laughing at myself for that misunderstanding!  What a knob I was.

-fixed the gas leak in the gas line for my heater
-reran the phone lines for my trailer
-installed a cut off valve for the main water line in the trailer so I wouldn't have to drive a 1/4 mile down the road if we had a leak to shut off the main
-cut, baled, and hauled hay for cattle three summers in a row
-maintained an acre of organic blueberries for seven years and held down a full time job with a 2 hour commute
-bushhogged 20 acres every summer for 5 years with a 4 wheel drive Belarus tractor
-pulled the pump on my well to fix the foot valve so it would pump correctly
-re ran piping from the well to the house because the line was filled with sediment
-split firewood to heat my home

Thanks to my ex-husband (who left me on 27 acres to manage cattle and blueberries in an old, falling down trailer every spring, summer, fall to go off to work for 7 years), I am now a very well rounded, independent woman!!!

Let's see, I can add couple off the top of my head, but I will say these were all from my trip to the sandbox in 2004, not this time...I desk jockeyed most of this trip.
- I've been shot at and had my truck get hit by a bomb in combat (my truck and crew were all fine btw)
- I have shot back at the bad guys
- I have ordered my troops to shoot back at the bad guys with some great weapons
- I have peed in a bottle in a moving truck with body armor on (if it's not safe to pee on the side of the road...you gotta do something)...
- I went to a school that was 90% men and wore the same uniforms the men had to wear
okay, that's enough for now.

I think if there was a contest, you would win.

Yeah, no kidding. I can pretend I'm tough for hunting, but the deer don't shoot back. You, my dear, are Hoss.

Now, I would love to learn to hunt though..maybe when I am actually stateside and not over here, I'll get a chance to give that a try someday.  I won't lie though, I need a break from this "manly man" job...after 27 months total over here, I'm looking forward to literally letting my hair down and being a girl!
