Great job getting a little T.I.T.S. over the weekend!  66 degrees sounds about like heaven right now!

First ride in a month!  Windy, cold, looked like rain but felt great to get out!  I have lost enough weight to move to the next size smaller shorts...  MUCH better!  Not so baggy!  Took it easy as the wind was blowing me around.  OK February Challenge, we are off to a good start!

Nice little hour long jaunt, 14.8 Miles down and 85.2 to go...  Rain forecast for tomorrow but Tuesday is looking really good!

Go TEAM!

Hey everyone. It's great to be on the team!!

I got my first ride of the month in this morning. I was pretty slow, and there were some icy spots that slowed me down even more, but I did get in my planned mileage, so it was a good start to the month.

Kam32 - 2008-02-02 11:01 PM

I got started on my goal today! This will be a real challenge for me since riding in general, and especially on the trainer, is not one of my 1st choices for a good time!

Just so you all "get" it, I call my bike "grandma". That's how I'll refer to her in my blog. "She's" a 33ish y.o. Peugeot 10-speed that my MIL handed down to me so I could actually have a bike to do this thing called triathlons, which I'd wanted to do for a long time.

That's a nice bike, Kam. I used to have an early 70's Peugeot 10-speed, only I bought mine brand new back when I was in high school. I loved that bike and I wish I still had it.

Anthony

Peugeot 10-speed that my MIL handed down to me so I could actually have a bike to do this thing called triathlons, which I'd wanted to do for a long time.   My first couple of races were done on borrowed friends' bikes until this relic was brought down from an attic in their garage.  It's certainly served it's purposes (we've survived 2 seasons together), but she's not the easiest thing to ride - 31 lbs, she doesn't always like to use all of her gears, she likes to spit out her chain occasionally, and she's a bit small for my frame.  Anyway, with all of the downfalls, I'm glad to have her, or I wouldn't be able to have all of this fun!  Laughing  As you can see, I have to have a good sense of humor about "grandma" or I'd have thrown her to the curb a long time ago!  (shhhhh... don't tell her....Wink

LOL!  What a great story!  Sounds like "grandma" has LOTS of character!   Way to go getting your T.I.T.S. moving!

Hey Anthony!  Glad you were able to get your T.I.T.S this weekend -  slippery T.I.T.S. can be dangerous.  Be careful!   Way to get the month rolling!

Just a warning to all you “lucky” people who can actually bike outside this time of the year ! Paying attention to road signs is not always the best idea !!!!

I really wanted to be on your guys team as I love riding; but with weird weather here in MA it does sometimes snow in February. My plan will call for 50 outside or 1.5 hours inside so estimating is tough if we have a bad month with lots of snow.

I'm with you all in spirit..enjoy every minute you can riding..it is so much fun. I do hope with good weather I can get 400 miles in.

Is it too late to join in the fun? I'm up for some T.I.T.S. this month... My goal is 300 miles in Feb -- I got 20 in on Friday, and 25 today - so I'm on my way!

Not too late at all!  Looks like you have some hefty T.I.T.S. coming up this month.  We'll get Dee to add you to the spreadsheet since that is more than my little pea co-captain brain knows how to handle.

Good luck!

Who painted that thing? Their punishment should be to follow the line..... *splat*

When I see stuff like that, I wonder if someone had a warped sense of humor.... or if it was just another "frustrated government worker, following a bureaucratic plan." LOL

What kind of wetsuit were you wearing? If I did this, I'd need a heated dry suit, nevermind a wetsuit! LOL

I repeat. BRRRRRRRRRRRR!

The weather got me today, but tomorrow is looking better.  I will not ride in the snow.  I posted a photo in my training log.  No run, no bike... a melt down day.  Well, the snow has melted so that is good for tomorrow...

I posted a photo in my log.

Good to see all the miles, keep up the good work my friends.

Pretty bizzare.  I didn't know it snowed in Tucson!
