Did my run tonight before heading out to dinner with friends. (Pizza always tastes best when shared with friends after a hard run)

Did 10 miles naked down at the beach mostly in the dark and it sure was fun if not a bit too fast. (I got a bit frisky toward the end of the run)

Now at:

42/250 - 17%

Team: 13.79% Complete

Go Team Pfreaky Pfft

So... Naked runs make you frisky?

D001 - 2008-02-06 9:01 AM So... Naked runs make you frisky?

Not necessarily. But because I am running unencumbered it can sometimes be hard to gauge a proper pace.

Pace discipline has been a problem for me lately and this run was entirely out of hand. (IE. Way too Fast) Need to focus on running at my planned pace for the run.

So I guess naked runs are out for a while

I vote for MORE NAKED RUNNING!! Especially if it helps you reach your challenge goal.  And you can't improve your pacing unless you work on your pacing

I live next to a nude beach in Vancouver, and people are out there minus their clothes in all sorts of crazy weather.  I've never seen anyone running though.  Usually they just walk up and down the beach, strutting their stuff, trying to get noticed.  Quite funny and sometimes borders disturbing. Especially since most of them are people you REALLY DON'T want to see without their clothes.  You've got me curious to try this naked running thing-- but as a girl I think the bouncing would get annoying very quickly.

Happy running today everyone... with our without your clothes.

Okay, I had to check out your log to make sure I read that correctly! It's too cold too run outside bundled up right now, I cannot imagine running outside naked! Must be why we dont have a beach!  ...So I'm off to the treadmill at lunch.

Keep on running Team PFFT!

Oh, sorry

Running Naked means no electronics. No Pacing Aids, no iPod and usually no watch. Usually run naked at the beach because I don't have the mile markers paced out.

Naked runs are fun though when I do them barefooted. (Get back to the roots of running)

We do have a few "Clothing Optional" beaches here in SoCal but that would be Nude Running

I figured that's what you meant...a shameless ploy to get the peeps looking at your blog...kidding...

Got my swim yesterday, but no running last night...opted to go to the Republican caucus...

48 min spin this afternoon...hope to get a run in late tonight...

I like my version of naked (nude) running better. The mental imagry is so much better. Laughing

Got 7.75 miles in today.. fully clothed and plugged into the HRM. My longest run to date!!!

That puts me almost half way to my goal so I will definitly need up my goal a bit, but next week is a recovery, and then at the end of the month I start to taper for my sprint in march. And I'm always afraid my knee will start acting up again. So we'll see.

Okay well, even tho you were not as naked as we thought, you did inspire me. Smile  I thought if you could expose yourself to the elements, I could at least get out in them!  I ran 3 miles at lunch outside in 4F with 14mph N winds with my dog. (She is happy that you inspired me! She has been acting up lately getting into things and I have been feeling guilty I havent taken her out running.)

Keep up the pitter patter of those fast feet!

Shhhh.... you're not supposed to tell them that.

It's more fun when they think you're an exhibitionist who is running around his "clothing-optional neighborhood."

LOL! I am laughing so hard right now.

Actually, a few challenges ago, *I* was the one who asked what everyone meant by "naked running." I thought a bunch of BTers all lived in nudist colonies! LOL

And, of course, you can always stop by the biking team, and read posts from people trying to get their T.I.T.S. done....

Yeah it's an indoor pool swim then outside to the bike and the run.  It will be my first Tri and I'm looking forward to it, but the bike's gonna be cold.  Bad, wet, windy weather I have been told is like a tradition for the weekend this tri is held.

Hey we newbies have to keep life interesting right, and keep ya laughing Laughing

Since I tend to run down by the non-nudist beach, I definitly think on my next run I will leave the HRM at home so when someone asks "what did you do today?" I can answer "oh, I ran down to the beach for about an hour... naked." Just to see the look on their face.

Midweek Challenge Update!

Greetings February Challenge Participants!

Have you been wondering what's happening on all the teams? Here's a quick update!

Team Swimming Rocks - Co-Captains: kns57, Milaminute and Devouahy
The three team captains are currently fighting over possession of their beloved Little Pink Whip. The winner might end up being Devouahy, as he can hold his breath for 6 min 18 seconds – without turning blue! Unfortunately, Captain Kendra has bronchitis and needs to withdraw from the challenge – however she is now the Official Team Cheerleader! (Can you hear her in the background? She’s yelling, “Go team! Swim like rocks!” – Er, or something like that.)

Team We  T.I.T.S. - Co-Captains: tnickerson and Tupuppy
Well, I’ll give you one guess as to what this team is discussing. Yep, it’s "All T.I.T.S. – All the time." We’ve got T.I.T.S. that are pink and red, and even some with GLITTER. And some people, well, they have more T.I.T.S. than others. And… well, enough of that. I’m sure you get the idea.

Pitter Patter of Fast Feet... aka PFFT - Captain: 1for1
Naked runs! Yep, that’s the topic on this team. After Waterdog66 told the team about his naked run, the team was quick to contemplate how they could do this too! Stop by to find out which members of this team do naked runs, which members live near nudist colonies, and which members really want to do naked runs but feel it’s just a tad too cold outside.

LEMmings- the reRUN. Once again over the cliff. - Captain: RunnerX
Next stop - Team LEMons. Er, I meant "Lemmings." (I don’t think they appreciate my loving nickname for them.) Many members of this team seem to be plagued by the plague. Others are dealing with “the drippy sinus thing.” Despite this, they’re still racking up some impressive mileage. And they finally chose their team name - if only to avoid having me select it for them!

Gingerbread Joggers - Captain: Enders_Shadow
Puberty, temper tantrums and the “teenage years.” This group is discussing the hormonal swings that make for parents’ nightmares. Team Captain Kristen said “Groovy.” (When was the last time you heard that word?) Pam (crea0029) will be doing an indoor tri this weekend – Good luck, Pam!

Running With Scissors - Captain: Artemis
With over 400 posts already, this team looks to be a clear winner in this month’s Post Count Challenge. (What? You didn’t know there’s a Posting Challenge? Well, now you do. Get posting! LOL) Julie (Girl Passing On Left) has been displaying her creativity with some great pictures! She’s also been named the team’s Official Highlights Poster! Steve (reno8) has learned how to put a GLITTERY team table on his training log. And Lynne’s (Scotinseattle) snake ate a mouse, while her bird bit her – um, please refer to the Team T.I.T.S. discussion!

Hope you enjoyed this midweek challenge update! If you weren’t mentioned in the update – well, you must not have been posting enough! Try harder for next week! And in the meantime:

SWIM! BIKE! RUN!

Dee

No naked runs for this kid for a while

Did 10 miles at the beach with pacing aids and it went much better. Pace was quite pedestrian compared to yesterday's run but definitely more in line with the intended workout.

Did 10 miles @ GA Pace.

Now: 52/250 - 21%

Aww man, a fine time for me to not to check the thread... all that naked running discussion. But I think I might have to tell people I'm running naked sometime though, just sounds good... although it's hard to separate me from my ipod

Got in 4 miles yesterday... so 9/40 done for the month. Tomorrow's another run day... yay!

Weird... I'm actually looking forward to run days. Now when I can improve my endurance and speed a little, then I'd be super happy.

Ran 6 outside yesterday and am at 13/55 currently. I have a 5 mile run tomorrow.

I've determined that I will run outside if it as least 20 degrees out with 10mph or less wind. I just can't handle treadmills anymore and have somehow adapted to this weather. I remember when winter started and I was done running outside at 40 degrees! 40 degrees would be a heatwave right now!

Hello all. Sorry for being so quite in the last few days. Definitely not a standard for a Team Captain... Gotta love being sick! But I am recovering so I will make sur eto get my butt out here as well as outside and into your inspires more moving forward...

Well I got in 3 last night. The bruised ribs are definitely slowing me down from normal paces, but wrapping them helped... i am 5 into my 45 goal, so a lot of work to do in the coming weeks!

For those who do not know me from previous challenges let me do an introduction.

I am Ralph the Runner.. LOL... 41, crawling off the couch last year, and not running since the military days.. (That would have been the 80's for those with their fingers out!) My wife is a Tri'er, and i think several of you are in her mentor group (Kat's group). So say hello to excited2tri the next time you see her in a thred! I love in Charlotte with my wife, 3 kids (6, 9, 16) who also are getting into 5k's, and the youngest into kids tri's.. We are a busy family!!!

I had someone send me a question to whether or not Walk/Run or Walks count.  The answer to this question is yes. You can count a walk or run/walk towards your total.

I can totally relate. I hate a hamster wheel too... The only time I find it useful is when I do my interval running. They are great for working through your speeds.

Ran 4.3 in the snow today..it was fun...the snow flakes were the kind you can catch with your tongue.

I'm up to 16.7/55 or 30% and should get my plan from my coach today or tomorrow so should be able to finalize the 55.

Happy Training everyone~
