Since I missed meeting you at "shortest Tri Ever" in Eville, how about we find each other next weekend at MuddyBuddy?! I'm in the last wave as a age 72 Female team.

-Cynthia

Yay! We'll definitely have to find each other! I'd forgotten that you did the Emeryville race (I knew your username was familiar...). I'm really looking forward to Muddy Buddy -- kind of the anti-tri, in a way. I'll PM you this week and we'll figure out a way to meet up. I'm pretty sure I'm in the last wave too.

FYI, I was also thinking about doing the June 21 tri, but a friend of mine couldn't make that weekend so we settled on the Mermaid tri in Fremont the week before. We could've really been on a roll!

Here you go, team. I've just logged my first-ever 10 mile run. WAHOO! Now, I'm not saying I feel wonderful, but there is something to that just-finished feeling!

Hope you all have a great day!

Hello there!  I just got added to the team. My name is Carrie - I'm currently training for Timberman, with a few other tris thrown in the mix.  I haven't set my goals yet for the month. I have to work the numbers. :-)  I'd like to really challenge myself on the bike this month so I'm thinking I may make that number rather high, for me at least

Hey, Carrie! Still doing those pushups? Glad to be sharing a team with you.

Hello. It is nice to be on a the team with you.  I was doing the pushup challenge last month and ended up doing about 1600 in two weeks.  My chest eventually got mad at me :-)

Congrats on the 10 mile run!!

It's the second day of the challenge for me(I'm so advanced!!) and I have os far done my run session this am(at 10%) and will get a ride on the trainer after my son goes to be this evening.

I tried my wetsuit on today after 4.5 yrs hang in the closet..and mine DOES NOT FIT. So I have an extra challenge the next few months cos I'm not buying another one. Now I'm really motivated to stick to my goals.

Go Avengers.

I think I'll be on the trainer today too.  At afternoon naps.  I bought a Javelin and haven't gotten enough miles yet - I still feel newly engaged muscles when I ride.  I need to figure something entertaining for trainer rides.  Ho hum!

Sorry your wetsuit shrank   On a thread a while ago, someone suggested that a very dry suit was harder to put on than a "dry" wetsuit that had been in water recently -- anyway, you might try getting the suit wet and letting it dry and then putting on?  Some added flexibility in the suit might help with fit?

I read that as "an age 72 female," without the team part, and couldn't quite resolve that with the post above it where you say you've spent the last 4 years pregnant or nursing.

We have the same irritant problem here at our local lakes. Fortunately, the swim lagoon I love so much is chlorine-shocked a few times throughout the season.

*snerk*  I can't imagine being a 50yo first time mama, let alone a 70yo!  It's exhausting enough in my "youth."

Hopefully there will be no further ill effects of my swim... and I'll be brave enough to try again.

Congratulations!! That's a huge accomplishment (and I should know -- I did my first 10-miler only two weeks ago) and a fantastic way to kick off the challenge! It's scary what we're capable of, isn't it?

I've got a bike in. I'd like to swim tonight, but I have a friend visiting from out of town so I'm not sure I'll manage it.

Nice job on the 10 mile run.  I'm not sure I'll ever run that far.

I just logged my 2nd tri.  It was a blast and a nice kick off to the challenge.

Hope everyone has a good week.  Good luck getting those workouts in...I know it can be a challenge for the challenged.

welcome back jana - start off your week right like shoeless and run 10 miles... erh, unless that'd start your week wrong from overdoing it! Heh.  (That'd be my result, 10 miles is a bit much right now...ever?)

I've found some NAIndian folklore audio online - I'll try listening to it when I hop on the trainer in about an hour. Maybe some mysticism and animal/earthlore will help the reps go by... Oh that reminds me, I have an oldtimey radio show on CD somewheres that I haven't listened to for years, that might work too!

my 3yo daughter's drawing of me... but once reduced in file size and then reduced in avatar, yeah, what the heck is it??   But I haven't uploaded anything else!  I do have a finish line photo but it's hohum.  OK, I'll get a better one this week!  maybe even tonight.

My hips ache tonight - I assume from riding my new roadie yesterday and today?  Was thinking I'd run too tonight but now I'm not sure with achy hips.

Good job everyone!  I'm ahead of the game in terms of riding, and am already at 37% for the month.  But, that's kinda on purpose, as I'm not sure what the rest of the month will be like for riding, so I'm doing as much as I can these days.

I think the area I'm going to need the most help will be on the core workouts and the swimming.

I'm off to an okay start, but have some sore muscles from my first bike ride of the month.  New shoes/pedals allowed me to use a few muscles that I wasn't using previously.  At least I'm hoping that's all it is.

I was also happy that our May team ended up doing well enough not to have an avatar forced upon me.   That allowed me to drop in one of my own which is in line with the team name.

I'm in the same boat with the swimming. I've been in such a swimming funk lately   I'm hoping some OWS this week *fingers crossed* will get me out of my funk.
