Elite 4372 Connecticut | Subject: RE: December Pick-A-Challenge TEAM 2 starrlinda - 2008-11-30 8:44 PM ebshot - 2008-11-30 3:45 PM Okay guys, tomorrow is day 1. What is everyone doing? I plan to run tomorrow. It's my new addiction. Not good since I am swimming for this challenge! Good thing is I can swim in the morning and run when my kids are at school in the afternoon! Sweet! Best of both worlds. Also have to call the school. Why can't anyone do their job right the first time???? Those of you who know me know I've been fighting the school for months. My middle kid, Cole, has a hearing loss (just found out last month) and I have been trying to get him the services he is entitled to. Easier said than done. Soooo, I have to call tomorrow to get some paperwork straightened out that they messed up! Then ask a few extra questions as to why they won't do some testing I want done. Grrrr! Can you believe it is almost December???? Where did this year go? You are still fighting with the school? Amazing! Keep it up until you get Cole what he needs! Yup. It is a never ending battle at this point. I shouldn't say that, it's could be worse. I ended up getting about 50% of what I wanted. Maybe even 60%. I will get the rest, it is just a matter of when. I want a test done that (auditory memory/processing) the school thinks we should wait until next year, when they are certain he will fail. They think he might pass it now and it will be a false positive. They are telling me that they can't do the test at the school and they would have to pay (read spend money they don't want to) someone else to do it. Also, they can only give this test once every few years. Doesn't add up to me but that is okay. I will press on until I get the answers I am satisfied with. I just don't see why they want to wait until he is further behind. Makes me grouchy! |

Master 2665 The Whites, New Hampshire | Subject: RE: December Pick-A-Challenge TEAM 2 Morning/Evening/Time-of-Day to you all! Is this better, Erica? What can I say, it was Sunday morning, I'd been up since around 6 (much better than the usual 4!), and finally gave in to come post my turkey trot pics for the Pecans. Kristen, glad to hear you made it back safe and sound. Good luck getting over that jet lag. I can make a team log once we decide on a name. My vote is for the Hot Toddies, simply because it came to me in the middle of the um, night-ish-thing-others-call-day, and sounds all warm and cuddly. Gotta say, I love the Random Taser me Elmo Cat Stalkers - they won't forget that name any time soon! Okay, off to finish up the spreadsheet for the Limiters, I'll be seeing a bunch of y'all on those threads soon! |

Master 1989 New Jersey | Subject: RE: December Pick-A-Challenge TEAM 2 I got a great name for our team - How about "Life really sucks right now". I was on a high there for a while as I trained for NYC Marathon. Didn't do what I wanted in the race, but had the most fun ever in a race. Thought I took things easy, but then a couple weeks later got that knee irritation that I previously mentioned and haven't run a step in a few weeks. And that's usually my psycho-therapy. Although, it appears I can cycle ok. In fact, I bought a new Cervelo P2C Saturday. I needed some type of relief from the soap opera drama in my life. I had been seeing someone for quite some time but we broke it off. I then started dating another woman, but she had issues with my previous girlfriend, so that ended. And I was ready to just commit my life to my kids and my upcoming Ironman. But then girlfriend #1 re-appeared in my life and seemed to have interest in getting back together. I had to consider that, and I finally decided I wanted to go for it and figured out what I needed to change in order to make it work. But, now gf #1 tells me she was just being "friendly" and to top it off, she's started dating gf#2's ex-boyfriend. I feel like doo-doo because I re-opened my heart and got it ripped to shreds. And that's just the high level summary!! See...I told you I need my running as therapy. |

Man that does suck, sorry the women around you seem to be having technical difficulties, like being able to think and express said thoughts. You did get a new sweet bike (although I don't see pics ) and you can still ride that. Hope the kids are taking it easy on ya. This month will be MUCH better. Hopefully a few more easy weeks on the knee and you can start running again? Otherwise I've heard spinervals can be distracting and you do have a sweet new ride.... |

It was an '08 clearance sale. I couldn't pass it up. I test rode it in Central Park (the store is near there) and even though I was wearing jeans with rolled up pant legs and sneakers, I was flying past the other cyclists there. THIS is going to be good!!! |

I have 3 kids - boy age 15 and 2 girls 12 & 10. They're great. Live with their mom. As it is, my training for the Ironman (my first) will require careful planning, so maybe I don't have time for a relationship right now. The kids are part of the issue with gf#1. But maybe that's a sign for me that it's time to put more effort into being a Dad. I just wish she had just gone off into a different direction. |

It is how I have stayed sane during the past few weeks!!! It's tough to find someone who can accept you and the kids. It's a package deal. My hubby has a son who is 17. He lived with us for awhile and it was tough. He ended up going back to live with his mom after a few years. The military lifestyle of moving every few years was way too hard on him. It is tough but I knew what I was getting into when I married Bryan. I hope you can figure out a happy balance soon! There will be someone who will be thrilled with you and your kids. It just might take awhile for her to appear. |
