Champion 7546 Santa Cruz, California | Subject: RE: GPOL group for newbies to the seasoned triathletes (OPEN) AndriaLL - 2008-12-23 2:48 PM Wow, you leave for 24 hours and there is a whole new page! Can someone remind me how to get that nifty red list in my blog? My name is Andria and this is in fact what my arms look like...now only if my butt and legs could tone up half as nicely (I was a martial artist for many years and these are my "punching muscles" ) I look forward to getting to know you all better! Hi Andria - You just want to hit the reply or quote button at the top of the post where I placed the red chart...then when it opens find the red box...shade the entire box from top to bottom and copy (control C or right click and copy) ...see the next post and then go to your training log click on the "control panel" located in the upper right upper side below the Beginner Triathlete Logo then click on your "edit your training settings" link on the upper right side of the page (bottom link) you will then find your page where you can decorate or add text to your goals area of your training log...this is where you want to paste (CONTROL V or right click and paste) the chart I made in the forum. I will be adding our other teammates...later. THOSE ARE INCREDIBLE ARMS THAT I WOULD KILL FOR! was that my outside voice hehe Seriously...hope that helped....and no more leaving for 24 hours! we missed you.... |

My roommates were giving me the strangest looks! next time tell them that it is 10:30 somewhere.. bet they did not get the BEAUTY sleep you did either, instead they probably went out and hooted with the owls and woke up with a not so happy head! :} you win! |

Master 1841 Sendai, Japan | Subject: RE: GPOL 4 newbies - seasoned triathletes (OPEN - ALMOST FULL) Hi Julie. Do you have room for one more? My name is Dan and I live in Sendai, Japan - about 250 km north of Tokyo. I have not done a triathlon yet, but definitely want to get to at least the sprint level by the end of summer next year. I have been battling with knee problems for much of this year and that limited my biking and running. I also ended up having to take a break from swimming due to a seriously strained back muscle. I'm hoping to jump back into my training in January and will be sorting out my training goals in the next week or so.

Champion 7546 Santa Cruz, California | Subject: RE: GPOL 4 newbies - seasoned triathletes (OPEN - ALMOST FULL) a little birdy told me that someone on this team made some homemade....scrumptus, succulent, hot out of the oven thick and tasty cinnamon rolls. I am so jealous of that house....I want one!!!!! I ran my 3 mile neighborhood route. I must admit, I was going to back out..but FORCED myself....I feel so, much better...but I WANT A CINNAMON ROLL!!! Hoping everyone else at least did some type of little aerobic workout... In January we should start a situp challenge with in our mentor group or a maybe a running challenge...THOUGHTS? |

Extreme Veteran 484 El Cajon, Ca | Subject: RE: GPOL 4 newbies - seasoned triathletes (OPEN - ALMOST FULL) Hi All, Ok, so lets see, since Julie knows my secrets... I am a closet wino. Actually, not much of a closet one. As most moms can attest, wine makes making dinner bearable. I have been a huge slacker recently. I plan on being one through the holidays and I have to get back on the wagon after the first of the year. Please feel free to look me up on Facebook. Amy U. Cox. I seem to be on there more than anywhere else! |

I saw the 'S' word and I had to chime in. I am not a fan of Sit ups. Don't get me wrong. You won't get anywhere without a strong core, but in all my training I have never actually SEEN results like I do when I do core stability workouts. Plank holds, side planks, reverse crunches stability ball work, etc... Here are two articles from Figureathlete.com, a website that I frequently visit for training and nutrition programs...I should warn you, this site is full Figure athletes so there are some photos of some extreme hardbodied athletes, don't let that scare you! They do however provide amazing articles: http://www.figureathlete.com/free_online_article/training/abs_of_iron&cr= http://www.figureathlete.com/free_online_article/training/sexy_core_training&cr= With that being said..Im all for a team challenge, maybe we could incorporate some stability workouts into the mix! absolutely we are a flexible bunch....just wanted to give us something to shoot for in January...since most of our first races are not til March..seems to make us commit quicker?!...loved to hear ideas from you all. |
