Also my compression stockings arrvied (knee high type of things). I'm still quite upset when I think that I have to wear those things for the rest of my life. And yes they are totally, sickeningly horrible. I can imagine how attractive they are. Hang in there kid the rest of your life is a loooong time and things can change. |

I agree they look really stupid, but you see lots of them. |

I agree they look really stupid, but you see lots of them. My training compression socks are ok- look like your regular black knee high things but unfortunately the medical ones are horrible- they're skin colour and look like thick and very very old fashion tights. They're like something women wore at the end of 19th century or even worse. And all those moments that I was starving to feel better about myself thanks to training etc have vanished completly. I know people have much greater tragedies to deal with on a daily basis than compression stockings and I hope I dont sound shallow complaining about it. |

Expert 859 Perth, Australia | Subject: RE: Team Skinny (Dec 2009) Holiday Skinny Bellies Absolutely not, in no way are you shallow for being upset about having to wear these ghastly things; I've had to wear them after surgery and I know how horrible they are. I would be gutted if I had to wear them too. Can you get away with wearing your training ones instead? I have a friend who has to wear them and she dyed her's black and wears normal socks over them whenever possible. I really feel for you and, please, don't feel bad about complaining. |

I have a review with my doc in a few months so I'll check with him if I can wear my training socks maybe half the time or so. I can put mu socks over the stockings now (at least my feet are warm) and kinda forget that I'm wearing them but I'm dreading spring and summer - I think I'm gonna start praying for cold and rain all year round. Thanks again for your support. |

Anyway, yay!!! |

Mind you now despite using sun cream factor 30 I always manage to miss a spot and end up somewhat sun burnt. So for the remaining 6 days of summer I cover myself up completly... |

I actually do recall some delightful July days on the west coast where I only needed a windbreaker at mid-day... and it is a lovely country, especially in the warm pubs on a cold night with lots of good tunes! |

Well sometimes (emphasis on sometimes) we even get 86F! So if you only needed a windbreaker in July then that was the height of Irish summer. And women here need a lot less to dig out their flip flops and bikini-type of clothes. West coast and a few places in the North are definitely the most scenic parts of the country- were you here on holidays? As to pubs, what can I say...guilty |

I know how wonderful it is to see a new (and lower) number there in the middle. Congrats on the "4" in the middle. And keep on eating clean. Thank's. This has been the hardest thing I have ever done. Well, besides learning to swim freestyle. : ) I have been running on the treadmill at the YMCA because of the the poor weather. I get so frustrated looking next to me and seeing someone obvoiusly overweight "walking" on the treadmill reading a People Magazine. I want to scream IT AIN"T GOING TO WORK! Eating clean is ALWAYS the biggest challenge. |

First time was part of a educational group / music trip. Stayed in Doolin, Donegal, and Cork... had a great time. Even stopped in your home town of Limerick for one evening (great dinner and session at a pub downtown - forget the name though). Second time was with family and we spent the whole time in Doolin and Dingle. Both were wonderful trips. Our group (Blue Ridge Irish Music School) is planning another trip for this summer... destination unknown at this time. -Stu |

Kerry (especially Ring of Kerry route). Glad you enjoyed Limerick - not many people do and I'd guess the pub you went to was Nancy Blake's (or Dolan's). A friend of mine here in UL is researching Irish music so I'm sure he could recommend some musically suitable places to visit if you're stick for ideas. Go Ireland! And leprechauns naturally! |
