Elite ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() I'm confused --- not a new situation ![]() The spreadsheet shows our team avgs (at the bottom of the list) for each of the 4 challenges range from 67 to 74% but our overall team average is only 66%. That can't be right, can it? |

I would think 100 ounce bladder and two bottles would easily get you through the night. That would allow for roughly 20-24 ounces/hour. What about storage for the food too? You using something like the gas tank bag from epic designs? I wanted to keep the weight off my back but I might bring a small camelback and pack it away until evening. My bike has up to 3 bottle mounts so I might just put the pump in the bag and run 3 bottles with the smaller camelback (70oz) I have a handlebar bag for the majority of my food and then the bento box for my quick access - will just refill this as necessary. I will have my rear rack and can throw a pannier on but I want to go light this year. This is the bag I bought yesterday: http://www.jandd.com/detail.asp?PRODUCT_ID=FDRP |

I know what I want to do for a living - just wish you could make money riding a bike at 43 ![]() I told the guy at my LBS that when I retire I am working for him so he needs to get me an opening in about 30 years or so ![]() I think I can one up you on the job. I think I'll just spend my time touring the US on my bike! Maybe something like trail maintenance.... |

Champion![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() pdbman - 2010-03-25 8:24 AM that is crazy! how can a human body put up with that???wgraves7582 - 2010-03-25 8:14 AM brick94513 - 2010-03-25 10:05 AM brick94513 - 2010-03-25 7:04 AM Morning! Well wife's work schedule changed for the day, so I'll have to adapt. So, it looks like I'm only going to be able to swim. Eventhough I really wanted to ride again today, my legs are a little tired. Looking at the spreadsheet, I'm one bike ride and two swims from 100 percent! It's all gravy from there! Gravy? Maybe Bill can add that to his bike fueling regiment! ![]() The best part was when the guy I was riding with came out and saw me with pizza and chicken fingers and he was like you are going to ralph that out in about 1 hour - kept it down the whole ride. Even polished a mini-pizza off at my last stop - yummy! I know it goes against conventional wisdom but I don't think endurance products fit the bill for 28+ hours straight on a bike. The body needs solids at some point! At least mine does ![]() Check out Dean Karnazes book Ultramarathon Man. He shows a list of what he ate on one of his 200 mile runs. Mostly high calorie junk food. Its the only way he can consume calories faster then his body burns it off on the long runs. His long run is now 350+ miles. |

Champion![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() pdbman - 2010-03-25 8:54 AM rephrased as you working on polishing up a program, but then the company made their updates to the older, unpolished version and you had to start over. pdbman - 2010-03-24 2:25 PM I may be doing some late night training again. They made some program changes to the existing program that didn't include the changes that I just made so I had to go back and redo my changes. Now I get to test it again. uuuuuh, what? You lost me on that one, Paul!! ![]() I made some changes to a program and had tested it but it was waiting for someone to change another program before we could move it into production for everyone to use (both programs work together). Well, the powers that be decided they wanted another change to the program I had worked on and didn't want to wait for my changes to go to production first. So they took the program that was currently in production (that didn't have my changes), made the other changes, and are moving it to production before my changes. That means I have to take the program they just made the changes to (that doesn't have my changes) and make my changes again. Does that make more sense? If not, then think of it this way: Someone screwed things up so I had to go back and redo work that I already did once before. I was able to finish it up last night but it threw off my whole evening. But that's for another post. Very Frustrating! I hope that you don't run into any more issues. |

I was making strange sounds while I was playing with her dog. She heard it and interpreted it as my little sister having a bad seizure. She came out and found me and the dog romping and 'attacked' me with all the adrenaline I had cause to flow through her veins. She grabbed me by the neck and shook me around...it was in fairly good humor. It literally happened within a minute of me making that post.mchally - 2010-03-25 2:06 PM well I am finally caught up. What was it like. Why did you leave. ![]() Hey there! I headed out to run on the treadmill since it's raining and I didn't want to push baby in the stroller in the rain. Wildlife job..... It's my parents fault that I got involved with wildlife work. |
