Master 2042 Albany, NY | Subject: RE: Team 3 - June Challenge MDHillSlug - 2010-06-03 11:25 AM Hey Rhoda! I'm going to be in your area Friday thru Monday for my Tour de Cure ride. What's the weather supposed to be? Want to try to get together to meet? Oh, man! I'm actually heading out of town for the weekend. We are traveling down to Delaware for my cousin's wedding this weekend at then heading to CHOP for an appt for my daughter on the way back on Monday. Otherwise, I would have LOVED to get together! Please let me know the next time you are in the area! The weather looks to be mid 70's to mid 80's each day. They are now forecasting scattered t-storms on Sat and Sun but I'd believe it when I see it. They have predicted the same thing a few days over the last 2 weeks and we have yet to see any rain. My poor lawn in brown... My BIL is a weatherman in the area and the family joke is to usually plan on the opposite of his predictions. So, my guess is the weather will be beautiful! |

He did end up apologizing. A few weeks ago, I asked a woman if I could share a lane with her. She said sure and then continued to swim in the middle of the lane! The lifeguard and I looked at each other with our jaws on the floor. He told me to ask the fast guy in the next lane because he thought he was almost done. I just couldn't believe that lady! Ugh! Pool frustrations!! Last week I had to share a lane with another woman... Which was ok until she started with the sidestroke. On the middle of the lane. Everytime I passed her I got kicked in the ribs. I tried to look at it as good OWS training but I'm really not that much of a "glass half full" kind of person when it's 9:00 pm, after a run and I just want to finish my swim and go home to bed. I think I just need to win the lottery so I can build my own pool at home! |

Master 2042 Albany, NY | Subject: RE: Team 3 - June Challenge Only got 2 of my 4 planned miles running in today... I got part way down the road tonight and I just felt like laying down, crying and taking a nap. Don't know if I was just hungry (tried to squeeze it in before dinner), hot, dehydrated, tired or all of the above. I didn't feel like passing out on the side of the road so I turned around and came home. It turned out well actually because we then had some time to play softball with the girls tonight after dinner. |

First time in my life ever to go that far. Now I need to talk myself into that was a good workout and it doesn't matter if it was 12:00 min/mile or that I had to walk and if I have to run/walk the 1/4 and 1/2 marathons this year I will. Hope everyone had a GREAT thursday! Stacie It wasn't just a good workout, it was a great workout! Congrats on your first 5 miler! |

Champion 10742 Ames, IA | Subject: RE: Team 3 - June Challenge I got in a nice swim after work today (no kickers, biters, splashers, or cologne doused lane partners) and followed that up with my last long run before next weekend's HIM. Lovely day out too. I just wanted to keep on running, but forced myself to stick to the plan. |

Master 1641 Seattle, California | Subject: RE: Team 3 - June Challenge Got in about 7.5k today with 3.5 at a light tempo pace. Passed a bike! lol... It's bike to work week in Victoria so there are a lot of weak riders out and about. I wasn't going much faster then 7:20 / mile when I passed so it was more about the biker being slow then me being fast. I'll take it though, passing a bike really makes you feel like you are flying. |

Subject: RE: Team 3 - June Challenge Got in a good interval ride after work. It was my first with the new power tap wheel. I wasn't trying to push to hard, except for the last lap where I tried to go close to all out. https://www.trainingpeaks.com/sw/N4JIRBWFGFMFYQ6REY2OIVUXG4 <--- if you want to see some crazy line graphs ended up averaging 183 watts over 31 miles...so I suppose that's pretty good. I did notice that the 31 miles of intervals wasn't too bad considering the high winds. It was only about a month ago that I thought 24 miles in that same wind was torture. Looks like my endurance is building up well. I got a 70 miler and a 45-50 miler on tap for this weekend. We'll see how it goes. Gotta start reading my training with power book I just got in the mail. All this data is so much fun...but honestly I have no idea how to actually use it...LOL |

I am bringing my shoes though and have one run planned for this weekend. There is also a surfing competition going on while we are out there so I may have to check that out as well. Have a great weekend everyone |

Expert 1163 | Subject: RE: Team 3 - June Challenge Happy Friday team! (Hey, do we need a name?) I biked into work again today, and this time it was on my beater bike. Wow, it's a lot harder to ride that thing around, than my road bike! First, it's about a million years old so it weighs a ton and the shifters don't work all that well. It took me about 10 extra minutes to get to work today than it did on my road bike, even though I took a faster route with fewer stop signs/lights. But in either case, it's helping me rack up bike mileage to contribute to my goal |
