I was just thinking the same thing. I just stepped into a Starbucks to wait for my noon appointment and we were still on page 4!

Okay, the highschoolers are being quiet today.  Let's hope the middle schoolers follow their example.

Looking forward to working out tonight.  Doing some strength and maybe a little treadmill or bicycle.

Important lesson I learned today for male catheterization using the male demo:

"You don't break it when you play with it...you can't break it while catheterizating..."

Urologists have the best lines...

Hi Ghouligans. MCM was an amazing experience. It wasn't the race I thought I could do, but I finished. I hoped to get done in 5:15 to 5:30. Was counting on race adrenaline and crowd support to get there, which was in abundant supply. I had a nasty blister starting around mile 12, but that wasn't going to stop me. Unfortunately, my patella issues got to the point I could only walk around mile 20. It was a long 6.2 miles to the finish. So it was 6 hours. 4 1/2 terrific hours. 1 1/2 hours of humiliating, zombie fest walking. That said, it was incredible. The course was fantastic and the support top notch. I can't describe what it was like running through Georgetown or past the Washington Monument or the White House. I will say the Reflecting Pool was a bit stinky. I wouldn't sit long and reflect. Seeing so many people running for a loved one who was KIA was pretty emotional. I'm not a crier, but I teared up more than once reading what they had pinned to the back of their shirts.  I would love to do it again with all the Ghouls next year.

One of the bigger challenges of the race was the Jon Stewart rally on Saturday. DC already had 30k runners plus family in town using public transportation. The additional 20k people in town for the rally totally broke the metro. It took Nekkid and I over 3 hours to get to packet pick up (7.2 miles away) and back to our hotel.

Nekkid had a tough day, but in the end she truly is the tough one. Her view that you end a race crossing the finish line or in an ambulance sums her up perfectly. She went out in the ambulance with nothing left. I would have bailed long before collapsing unconscious into the arms of two marines.  I don't know what went wrong, and she may not either, but she gave it the Ghoulie All! HTFU points to Ann this week.

Sounds like a great event!  Congratulations once again.  That is truly an accomplishment.  Take care of that knee! (and blister)

I had no idea that Ann had such a traumatic ending to the race.  I had just figured that her foot had not allowed her to finish.  At least the marines were there for her!

I had missed this before getting to DC, but Nekkid filled me in. Port-a-Potty wars. MCM vs Jon Stewart. MCM wins. Don't mess with the Marines!!!!!!! FWIW, this was the best potty supported race I have ever done. Pre and en-route.

Ok Ghouls, signing off for the evening. I start working again tomorrow. Not sure how much time I'll have, but will check in when I can. FWIW, I'm not planning much of anything workout wise this week. Will then work out swim/strength training schedule for the month.
