Looking forward to seeing you out there Kido!

My training has been rock solid the past few weeks, despite the fact that I'm slower than I've been in the last 2 years, my body (aka achilles tendon that I tore in late 09) feels rock solid.  I just need to stay in my zone and follow the natural progression of building my fitness and not rushing it.

Are there any plans or groups that do training rides for IMAZ?  I would like to do at least one bike and run loop before the race.

I haven't started any IMAZ specific training yet, just tapering for Boston in less than 2 weeks.  ??I also ran Discovery Trails Calico 50K in January for fun. Once Boston is over I'll get serious about IMAZ.

I will admit, I've been cheating and riding my P3 on the trainer in the living room on my off days.

My last tri was 1/2 IM Las Vegas, if you're looking for a challenge WOW!  The bike and run legs start at Lake Mead and go UP!!  The bike is an out and back course, but the hills are tough 5K ft in elevation change.  The run was a plygonal loop, some how they managed to make about 9 miles of a 13.1 mile course uphill?

I start "official" IMAZ training on the 25th and I'll be following the Be Iron Fit competative plan. I may adjust that as I go along. Up until now I've been working on a running base with a little biking and swimming.  The past couple of weeks I've been adding in short rides and swims to get ready for the first "real" week of training.

On a more serious note, I am starting the 30 week Ironfit plan this week.  I will be a week ahead of everyone else because of the Oly and HIM I have lined up.

Know what you mean.  I was just talking to my wife the other day about it being 7 months away.  Her response,   7 months?  That is a long time from now.  I was thinking to myself I wished it was more like 12 months Tongue out

This weather sucks!! I was supposed to do a 3 hour ride followed by a 30 minute run on Sat. but that turned into a 2 hr ride on the trainer and a 30 min run. Feeling good about my training so far and looking forward to having mileage increase. I've been working with a coach for 7 months and still have 7 more months to go, but my energy level is still up. Hope everyone had a great Easter. Happy training!

Today will be my last day of week 1 of training. So far training is going great. Up until now I've really been focusing on running, so it's nice to be doing something different. I don't like the swims, but I will in some time.

Thanks - but not, for me, sustainable!  Marathon training is just a different beast.

Here's mine for April.

Recovered pretty good from Oceanside.  Was able to jump pretty quickly into run training for the SD 100.

Got 37 miles in the first week back, followed by 72, 85, and my first 100 mile run week.  Definitely the most running I've ever done.

Our pool was closed much of the month to get the deck redone.  Just reopened now.

Bike   30 hrs 8 min,   481 miles

Run    57 hrs 58 min,    303 miles

Swim  28 mins, 1000 yards

Well today is the day, I officially start training for IMAZ.  I took a few weeks off of structured training after my 1/2 IM and my mind and body are ready to roll.  The family enjoyed some solid weeks of Dad time and I'm ready to get going again.  Hope all is going well for everyone can't wait for Tempe in November.

I've been bummed out since I did SoCal Ragnar as I've got a very bad foot sprain and haven't been able to run in about a month now.  But back a swim-bike and weights routine once I get down with a quick family vacation.

Happy training everyone!

Could this affect the IM AZ?  I wouldn’t want to start the bike with a third eye.  I guess I can add water quality to the list of things to stress out about.  This is my first ironman and am looking forward to the adventure.

I wouldn't worry too much.  Ironman and the numerous other races throughout the year bring in too much revenue for Tempe.  The money is a great motivator to solve the problem.  I am sure they will come up with a solution.

When is everyone starting their training program?  I have a pretty busy summer race schedule so my focused IM training won't start until the last week in July.  It is a 17 week ramp up.  I just finished the Tempe International Triathlon last weekend (which shares a lot of the course with IMAZ) and I am really excited to get this one under my belt!

This is the latest I've seen, so don't worry and keep up the swim training!

6 months to IMAZ tomorrow!
