Hunting Triathlete - 2011-07-10 10:43 PM

Alright, I'm back and have to say that I came back from the beach just because I missed Team GarminWink.  Well I got in an unplanned stage Friday moring before we left and finally got in 12+ miles on the road tonight for another.  Your standings are different now BreezyWink, and are we allowed to do more than one stage a day or complete one on a tour rest day?  If so I ccould likely change mine to all 23 stages.

We missed you too!

I'll update the standings.

Rule 5 addresses how many rides you can do per day:
5. You can ride more than once on one day if you wish to, just make sure that they are logged as separate rides in your log.

There is no rule against riding on an official tour rest day.

This morning's standings are:
1. Breezy
2. Cagoldigger - in my slipstream and ready to be launched
3. Huntingtri - moving up
4. chrisrunsz - distracted by a bunny at the side of the road
5. peto_primo - resting in the peleton
6. doctorbob - addressing a mechanical problem
7. dlaxman - back at the team car to retrieve bottles
8. triguy - off the back

CAGold, I have to say that you will be more than good in a little over a month when your Tri gets here.  Maybe you should start practicing something else, Like saying "ON YOUR LEFT".Cool

Keep it up everyone and the search party is still looking for Tri-Guy

Planning on riding tomorrow, around 20-35 miles.  Should allow me to catch up nicely this weekend.

I have a feeling I'll be back to lead some of the group.

I peaked in the other team spreadsheets and I think we are on top. All teams have at least one member who has yet to log a stage. Three of the teams have spreadsheets that are not easy to understand (some members putting in cumulative totals, others are not).

Team Garmin - 46.97% complete
Team Quickstep - 42.99% complete
Team Sky - 24.53% complete
Team Leopard Trek - around 30% spreadsheet needs work
Team Liquigas - spreadsheet need work
Team BMC - spreadsheet needs work

Yay Us!!! Breezy, just wondering if there is a cut off for removing a Team mate. I want to be sure to give TriGuy25 every chance to ride and log but also don't want to miss out of the podium after everyone's hard work to ride their given stages. I hope that doesn't sound mean and I don't mean for it too but maybe he just changed his mind and forgot to tell us. ???

I rode my 11th stage today on the trainer. We have a heat index of about 100 today and didn't think it would be the best thing for my chubby self to get out there and die. Will be riding outside tomorrow and Thurs though. It is only supposed to be in the 80's
Have a great week everyone!!!

There is no official policy on removing team members. We need to wait for the challenge organizers to make a decision. We are not the only team with this issue.

Last year they removed people from teams who never completed a stage, the DNS members.

P.S. I knew you were busy looking at bunnies!

Hey Everyone, I played around with the spreadsheet and added a section on Percentage of Tour Completed so we can compare where we are as individuals and as a team to how much of the little race over in France is doing.

As a team, we are right on target for where we should be after stage 10!!!  Keep it up

Another Stage down - 30 Minutes on the Trainer.  I know, I know, there are roads outside but between there not being enough daylight and my wife leaving to do things when I do get home early I don't have any other option.  Everyone keep up the great work.

I just wanted to take a second to thank everyone for the encouragement and the way you lead by example and still take the time to inspire others on the team.  This challenge has truly helped my riding totals / workouts, and has been nice to have you all to talk with as I do all of my training by myself.  I really do thank you all!!!  Ok lovefest over, now get out and ride, Go Team Garmin.

I totally understand that this week.  Just got 45 minutes on the trainer tonight - best I have felt on the bike in over a week.  got the same thing going on - getting out of work later than usual and we have been getting rain every evening for the last week or so - (big thunderboomers going on right now)  So it is get the boys in bed and the girls heading that direction then down to the basement.

Let's see if Tyler F can uncork a stage win tomorrow!

Way to go everyone!

Thanks for all the encouragement.

Before this challenge it was hard getting motivated to get out and ride all the time. I work as a chef here at Lake Tahoe for a major hotel and I work long hours and I'm usually not off work till 12-1am. So, getting up and riding or running is hard. This is an incentive to keep going hard and strong.

I'm glad the challenge is working so well for our team! I am going to have spotty internet access for the next week so it is up to my co-captian Peto and the rest of you to keep the motivation going.

We are over 50% in our average completion, which is right where we should be to make it to Paris in the lead!

This morning's standings are:
1. Breezy
2. Cagoldigger & Chrisrunsz - neck and neck
3. Huntingtri - not far behind the two-headed monster
4. doctorbob & peto_primo - neck and neck
5. dlaxman - waiting to make a move
8. triguy - off the back
