Both of those are pretty dark shows though. TrainerRoad works without a USB stick, but it's waaaay more fun with the stick. I would wait a day and do the 20 minute test once your stick arrives. That will establish an FTP to scale all of your workouts. After that you could work your way through one of our plans. Since it's still early you might want to start with the base plan. It's not too intense but has a good amount of sweet spot training and builds into threshold training as the plan progresses. We'll have a new version out tonight or tomorrow with a bunch of bug fixes. We'll put it on our facebook page before we push it to everyone. http://www.facebook.com/trainerrd Iam watching this now.....FABULOUS series. Didn't get on the trainer last night like I thought I would, but the Ant+ stick is listed as 'out for delivery' by UPS this morning. Went out and picked up another fan and a mat for under the bike, so tonight's the night. Time to sweat! |

Even if it was like Garmin does.... it records instantaneous but you can apply a smoothing curve to it. Most trending software does this, don't know ho whard it would be for you guys.

I had this same problem and asked the folks @ TR about this issue. They told me that this is usually caused by the speed sensor & magnet being too close together. I moved them a little further apart, and it seemed to fix the issue for me. Read this: http://support.trainerroad.com/entries/20668756-why-do-i-get-speed-... Edited by jsnowash 2011-12-07 8:53 AM |

Click on the Career tab. This will open up a list of rides you've completed. Click on the ride you want to delete (don't OPEN the ride, but click to the right of the box showing the ride profile - hope that makes sense....) This opens a little box below the workout. In the bottom right-hand corner is a little trash can you can click to delete the workout. |

This question is might be more suited for the techies in the group. My laptop is a MacBook Pro running Mac OS X version 10.5.8 (please no mac vs. pc debate). I downloaded the Mac version of TR but unable to install with OS version 10.5 (requires 10.7). I ran a software update, with the message that I my software is up to date, but obviously this isn't the case! Any other Mac users run into this problem? How did you remedy the issue? My racing season finished with IMAZ, and I am chomping at the bits to use the new TR software! Thanks! Chris Operating system upgrades are different than application updates. To go from 10.5 (leopard) to 10.7 (Lion) you have 2 options. Go to an apple store (or apple.com) and purchase the Lion Upgrade on a USB stick for $70. Go to an apple store (or apple.com) and purchase the 10.6 (Snow Leopard) upgrade disk to upgrade to 10.6, then you can purchase the 10.7 upgrade from the Mac App Store for $29.99. |

Yah, we don't have a way to delete or edit workouts from the website right now. It's due to the way our architecture is setup...I'll be fixing it but that's still a ways out. |

Thanks! That 4 min "ridethrough" suggestion is on my to-do list now. For the smoothing, I'll be adding that. But in your case I think your magnet is a little too close to your speed sensor and you're getting some double counts. Check out this post: http://support.trainerroad.com/entries/20668756-why-do-i-get-speed-... The generic fluid or generic mag would be tough. Mag's have a pretty linear slope line but you still don't know the slop. For the fluid ones, it varies quite a bit. We're working on building a motor to hook up to a bike so we can build our own curves rapidly. Once we start getting money I see us buying every Trainer on the market and testing them. I'll be updating the career page and workout page with some filters. Soon but not too soon. |

As a fellow mac user I suggest upgrading to Lion (10.7). Very cool stuff in there and it's only $29. |

I appreciate having the workouts already planned out for me since I have no idea about what I should be doing and how much. I was worried that the time on the trainer would be a killer but having to follow the intervals and also being asked by the program to change up cadence, etc. is awesome and that time goes by really fast. Thank you guys for putting so much time into this, I certainly appreciate it! I hope you guys hit it big!! |

But what would you suggest if your trainer isn't listed? There are 2 options I can see:
Right now i prefer using option 1. We're working on building a motor to hook up to a bike so we can build our own curves rapidly. Once we start getting money I see us buying every Trainer on the market and testing them. Alternatively, you could just buy me a powe tap and I'll test my blackburn for you. I'll be updating the career page and workout page with some filters. Soon but not too soon. Yea the filters aren't a rush, just a note for your list. Like i said, it looks like really good software that has a lot of room for growth. I could easily see you guys putting in courses to race etc. Being in the software industry myself I know what I find useful feedback from my customers, and try to provide the same when I'm the consumer.

Pro 5755 | Subject: RE: TrainerRoad Some observations on my first ride using TR. First, I like it and feel it has great potential. Being pressed for time tonight didn't allow me to set everything up as well as I would have liked, but I did get a 30 minute 'slide' ride in. My setup was a Cervelo R3 with wireless Powertap and coded HR strap passing data to my laptop with a Garmin Ant+ stick. The laptop was connected to the stereo using a headphone jack and the TV by HDMI. I also purchased my first Sufferfest video today. I couldn't get the video sound in stereo, nor could I figure out how to play the video in full-screen mode and have the horizontal TR data at the bottom of the screen. As I said, I was pressed for time so decided I'd better ride now and futz with it later. My HR strap kept dropping out. I had also turned on the Joule and it did not drop out on there. The dropouts seemed to be position specific, when I was upright it was fine and down in the horns it was not. I need to try moving the laptop, and possibly it was also interference with the wireless keyboard? I need a lot of practice at dialing in the correct gear/cadence to match power. I was all over the place. I'm sure that's normal for someone new to training with power. I'm looking forward to comparing rides in another month and seeing progress. The software is good and I feel it is already worth the planned subscription price. I can see this being a great training tool with tremendous potential, especially if the developers can make a living at it and quit their day jobs! Good luck, Nate & co. The video was pretty good too. I watched Downward Spiral and when Thor came on riding his Cervelo I was yelling at the screen. Once everything is dialed in and working this will be pretty awesome. |

Move the joule next to the computer and see if it drops out there too. Check out this: http://support.trainerroad.com/entries/20648397-how-do-i-get-the-be... It could TOTALLY be that wireless keyboard too. Try moving that and see if it helps. I need a lot of practice at dialing in the correct gear/cadence to match power. I was all over the place. Over time you'll become a smoother and more efficient rider. I'm glad you like it! |

Get everything setup (TR in horizontal mode, at the bottom etc.) then put your player in full screen mode and hit "F11". Or you can put it in full screen mode and alt-tab over as well (I think).

One thought, it tells you durring the test that it will calculate either your FTP or LTHR. It would be nice if it would calculate and give you both. While I'll be using power for the training I do with Trainer Road, I won't have that when I'm riding outside.... yes, I still plan on doing some of those outdoor rides. |
